Question On Buying A Yorkie I see some people on here will buy a yorkie and have it delievered. I also see some take orders for yourkies before 12 wks but they cant have them untill then. My question is how do you know hw they will look if you buy them at 5 wks but cant have them until 12 wks. I would like to know how every one buy their yorkie? |
The breeder should be able to give you some idea of how big they will get. Most people also want to see the parents or at least the mom. That should give you some idea. If you're buying for a pet, you're requirements are probably not as particular as they would be if you were buying for breeding stock. It is just as important to research the breeder as it is to research the dog. |
I purchased Lynx from a breeder without seeing him. I paid a deposit when he was like 6 or 7 weeks old and then paid in full when he was 12 weeks. I could've went to see him but the breeder was 2 hours away. She was in Wisconsin Dells, WI and I'm in Milwaukee, WI. She didn't send me pics nor was I allowed to pick which one as they were accounted for. I couldn't imagine him being any cuter though! Mari |
I selected the Breeder first. She sent me a picture of the puppy as well as pictures of his parents and his sister. She also offered that I could come to meet him if I wanted to. The Breeder and I also had several lengthy conversations where we discussed the puppy's health, genetics, personality and how he would fit into my life. We also discussed my background, experience with yorkies, the temperament of my other yorkie. By the time I went to pick up my puppy, I felt that I already knew him. However, he turned out to be all that I had thought he would be and more. He is the most precious little baby with a very loving personality. (And since the Breeder lives ~3 hrs. away, I didn't go to meet him until the day I picked him up. I guess you could say that Breeder is also kind of a "matchmaker".) :aimeeyork |
