Hi, I just joined the site today. You can read all about my two adorable Yorkies - Roxie and Bubba - in the general site. A adopted them almost 2 yrs ago, they're 3 and have not been around a lot of other yorkies, but we welcome the opportunity to visit! Glad to know there are other Iowans out there. Anyone know if there is any type of Yorkie club in Iowa or a small breed club. I write for a paper and did this great story this past summer on Greyhounds and their organization. Of course a lot of what that group is about is placing Greyhounds in suitable homes. But the group has a great big Greyhound 3-day party in Sept. that people from all across the country come to. Would love to have some type of Yorkie shingdig! Does that sound interesting to anyone? :aimeeyork :aimeeyork |
Hello I am not from Iowa but i visit Mt Pleasent alot if ur familiar with it. I have family that lives there. |
Welcome to YorkieTalk to you and Tinkerbell! |
:) No I'm not very familiar with Mt. Pleasant (one of my sorority sisters was from there, but she's a neurosurgeon in DM now) I'm probably more familiar with KC, than Mt. Pleasant. Great town you're in. We come down usually several times a yr - my daughter dances and twirls the baton, so sometimes it's for a dance competition or a baton contest. Of course we also love to come to shop - my favorite clothing store for my daughter is down there - Chocolate Soup. She's 16 now and geuinely disappointed she can't fit into the things they have there. Don't know where to shop for dogs in KC - but definitely the place to shop for infants and up - and talk about your hair bows!! A year ago, we spent Thanksgiving in KC and watched the lighting of the Plaza - we stood smack-dab in front of the stage - with the huge crowd behind us. We were also there in August when my daughter's competition cheer squad went to perform with the KC Chiefs cheerleaders - their were hundreds of girls on the field! I would imagine there are a lot of Yorkie owners in the KC area. Any type of group there? |
WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME! Glad to have you here! |
I havent looked into groups yet I get my lil irl in a few more weeks but that is a good idea. The PLaza Lighting is nuts, but we love it. Have you ever shopped at the Crown Center its a nice place too, when we go we just plan on spending the whole day there. I will look around for doggy shops though. |
