???? about a Yorkie Meetup I am having the first Cincinnati Yorkie Meetup at my house next Saturday If some one has been to a Yorkie Meetup before I am looking for fun inexpensive ideas on what to do. I will be supplying sloppy joe's and drinks and some other goodies. I have had i14 people sign up with 4 yes's and 10 maybe's so I don't know how many people will come. I have also invited Husbands since mine will be there and I have asked people to bring a dish to share and a wrapped doggy toy for gift exchange. I need ideas to make the day special and fun for everyone. Thanks Janie If you are within driving distance of Cincinnati you are welcome to atttend I have very close to I- 75 and I -71. Just let me know, The meet up is 8/4/07 a 11am. The more the merrier !!!!!! Janie |
This is the hard part, finding activities to do... How about that idea where you elect each dog best of something? You can find those certificates at places like Staples or Office Max, or you can make them on your computer, and you can elect each dog Best Personality, Longest Legs, Shortest Legs, Brightest Eyes, etc. They do this at camps and stuff. Silly, but could be fun. There's a thread somewhere with some games that others have done at Yorkie Meetups. One was where the dogs would bob for hot dogs, similiar to how kids bob for apples. Musical chairs with hula hopes where the dog would sit or stand in the hula hoop when the music stops and then you take away one hula hoop each turn. I believe there was also a simon says game for the dogs where you put a plate infront of each dog and then the host comes around and puts a treat on the plate and then says something like eat or don't eat and obviously if your dog doesn't obey that order they are out. Let me see if I can't find that thread again. |
I stealing other peoples ideas now. So, here's some good ideas that I've found by searching YT. Guess the Yorkie: You bring out like 5-10 Yorkies and everyone has to guess what Yorkie belongs to who. If you have ex-pens you could have the Yorkies in there instead of having someone try to hold all the Yorkies and their leashes. Also, another type of guess the yorkie would be where you blindfold the owner and they have to figure out which yorkie is theirs by touch and smell. |
Oh here's that thread I was talking about. Here |
