Pooch-A-Palooza in Detroit, MI Hi everyone, Sorry this is short notice. I almost forgot about it. This is for those of you who are in Michigan, close to the Detroit area. There is a Pooch-A-Palooza Pet Walk downtown on the newly rennovated Riverfront. I think it will be really nice. Here is the info below. The registration fee is $15 and you can take as many pooches as you like. Hello Dog Owners! Join Canine To Five at the very first Pooch-A-Palooza Pet Walk on Sunday, June 24. The two-mile walk begins at 9 a.m. and will start at the GM Promenade. Participants will walk west to Cobo Hall and back east to the new Rivard Plaza & Pavilion and then back to the GM Promenade. The one mile walk begins at 9:30 a.m., with walkers traveling from the GM Promenade to the Rivard Plaza and Pavilion and back. The rest stop at Rivard Plaza & Pavilion will have drinks and snacks, while gifts for registered walkers. Canine to Five: Detroit Dog Daycare will also be providing "PETicures" for your pooch and free pet pictures. The event also features an Owner and Dog look-a-like contest (winner will receive dinner for four at Andiamo's Restaurant), Best Dog Trick Contest (winner will receive 3 month family association membership), Celebrity Judges and a Doggie Dance Competition! There is a small fee for entry, and packet pick-up and walk-up registration will be located at the GM Promenade. Visit Registration Form for a registration form. To take part in the event, each walking participant must be registered. However, the number of dogs is not limited per person, and up to six family members can walk together for one registration fee. If registering before June 15, a single registration costs $10, while a family registration (limit 6 people) costs $20. After June 15 and on the day of the event, a single registration costs $15 and a family registration costs $25. Day-of registration for both walks begins at 8:30 a.m. at the GM Promenade. If you need more information or are interested in going let me know. Karla |
Thanks for posting this. I really would like to take Ellie. I don't know if I am reading this right. Can you register that morning and what does the line mean that says, "Visit Registration Form for a registration form."? I have been looking online to see how to register and all I see are the print off forms that you mail in. |

Well, I would really like to go but a few things seem to be getting in the way. I found the form online but Ellie happens to be in heat. The male dogs will go crazy. I am also not sure if it is a good idea to take any Yorkie to downtown Detroit (we are very overprotective). I am still thinking about it and might consider going without her but I don't really see the point in that.:( Bummer. |
