There's alot of Michigan members - that would be fun. I was there during the summer once - and LOVED it there - just a gorgeous state... but man - too cold in the winter for me |
i wish we would have something like that here even if it were for all dogs.....you are lucky to have that. i am sure it will be lots of fun |

This event is North of Ann Arbor so it is a beautiful area and what a fun event. Only wish I could go. I also love that it is a fund-raising event with experts on hand...MI Yorkie people Rock  |
????? i checked out the web site and it says 2007 yorkie fair is this correct? |

thanks so much for showing us that!! I live about 10 minutes from where the fair will be! This is the first I've heard about it. I'm pretty sure the 2007 date is correct. I think they might need that long to prepare and get vendors and get the word out, gosh I guess it could end up being pretty big. I'm so excited...I can't believe I have to wait a whole year! |

Yep it's in 07 and it's going to be great! I can't wait to be able to meet others from different states and others from MI that I don't see at our meet ups. |

I want to bump this up again because I so didn't realize this is in 2007. When I first saw this post I was really bummed because this is fairly close to me (about 45 minutes) and I wasn't available that weekend. So, now I'm planning for next year - YEAH!!!! It sounds like fun and I can't wait to meet some folks. Come on YT'ers - lets make it a weekend. I've got a spare room and we're a dog friendly home!!!! |
Ditto on the spare room Quote:
Hey, I'm writing it my New Yorkie Appointment Book I got last week, I can't wait, especially after today:) |
Wow This fair looks like great fun! It's a ways but I would like to attend. Wonder if they have a campground nearby as I have an rv and 4 dogs, kinda hard to stay in a motel. Wonder if poodles welcome as well as yorlies. anyone know if other breeds welcome? |
Quote:
Yes on the poodles, all breeds are welcome. There are many campgrounds nearby, look up under camping, if you need help deciding which ones are closer, feel free to PM me, I know the areas pretty well, I know of a good campground also, middle class, not stuffy and not low life, if needed, I was always picky when the kids were younger. Maybe you don't have to worry about kids influences tho. Let me know if you need help bye |

Thank you for such a quick response. I willl look up camping near there, but if you will pm me with the nice camp you know of, that would be great. My kids are grown and gone, I have my sweet furkids though and am still kinda fussy. I am so glad the curly kiids are welcome cuz its hard to leave any behind. I am looking forward to the fair I think it will be great! |

If there aren't any good ones nearby Ann Arbor, the one I was talking about is about 20 minutes away, it is a private campground called Haas Lake (248) 437-0900. It is in the city of New Hudson, right off the highway so it would be easily accessible. (I've stayed here so I know it is decent, clean and people are more middle to upper class. The city of Ann Arbor is an University city so I am not sure how many campgrounds would be closer. Ann Arbor reminds me of a miny New York, complete with apartment buildings, lots of private houses turned into flats.... If you find one you are thinking of, and you are too far away to check it out, I wouldn't have a problem going to check it out for you either. Good Luck. AND just in case you are interested, I believe I heard they were having the hotels reserved for the people visiting the fair and since it IS the Yorkie fair, I am certain they would be dog friendly for this event BTW P.S. you are quite welcome |
Incredible is the only word I can use to describe you Patty! You are a great help to me and I do appreciate it. I will be checking out the campground you gave me, gonna give them a call this week and see about their fees and rules etc. It is people like you that are making this site thrive. I do look forward to meeting you. God Bless |

I'm in Richmond just a bit north of Mt. Clemens and South of Port Huron. |

So if you wanted to, we could get our babies together before the 2007 yorkie fair. maybe meet at a half way point or something. Somewhere where the babies are allowed of course:) |
Hey I live in Green Bay....any chance of meeting up also? Or do you think it is too far.....I don't know Michigan very well even though I have lived next door for 40 years....lol. |
