Hello from Ann Arbor!
 
I've been reading this forum for a while now but thought that it was time I took the plunge and made my first post! My name's Anne and I'm a dental student at the Univ. of Michigan. I got my bachelors from MSU though (hence the screen name, lol). My husband and I are hoping to bring a yorkie into our family after we graduate this summer. But for now I've just been absolutely addicted to reading these forums and soaking up everyone's experiences and knowledge. Being that this will be my first dog, it's all new and exciting to me! You guys are great and I've learned so much already!! Hopefully I'll have some cute puppy pics to contribute by summertime :D though summer seems so far away with our current weather...

Welcome! You will certainly find all kinds of helpful information for your Yorkie search! Plus there are several nice breeders in Michigan on here as well!
We had a Yorkie meetup in Ann Arbor a couple of years ago that was alot of fun! We ate practically every day at Zingermans with our dogs!

Yorkies are the best, I have three of them! Well two and one Yorki-Poo!

Yeah Zingerman's is the best! We even got our wedding cake from there - it turned out amazing!

At birthdays and holidays since we were there we order their bread, brownies, olive oil, etc.. A gift basket goes out to our family members! It was a fun place!
I also found an interesting book store while I was there, Aunt something I think. It was a mystery book store, I love to read!

welcome Spartanpup(I wont hold that against you lol) I have always had big dogs and when I had to have my Lab put down my wife and I decided to look at something smaller. Low and behold the fist time I held a Yorkie Pup I was hooked, we got ours last June and she is the most enjoyable dog I have ever had. They are so loving and playful, no matter what kind of day I had at work within 5 minutes of being home she has me laughing like crazy. I only wish I hadn't waited so long to get my first Yorkie, we are already discussing getting another. Good luck in your search and be prepared to be owned by a Yorkie.:D

I will definitly be posting some pictures of our yorkie when we get him/her! For now I've been working on researching vets in the detroit area (where I'll be moving after graduation).

do you have any idea where you will be moving yet? I have a great Vet in Livonia, every one there is very nice and kind to the animals, and they love Yorkies, every time I take Marley in they want to take her and show her off any one that hasn't seen her before. They also have a tech. that works there that is a Yorkie owner.

we're looking into the St. Clair Shores area, which is pretty far from Livonia, thanks though! If anyone has any good vets near St Clair Shores, let me know :)
