I don't have a Yorkie--YET!!!! And I have a lot to learn. If there is a Yorkie playgroup in the area, I'd love to attend. :animal36

I live by Elk River. I was just at the Petsmart in Maple Grove today. :D

We take Gracie up to the Chuck and Don's up in Elk river and then go visit "grandma" who lives there. She also goes to the training at the Maple Grove petsmart. Heather (the trainer) is great!

Cool! we go to Chuck and Don's too. :D Tinka is taking training classes at the Humane Society in Coon Rapids.

If you come up to Elk River, you go pretty near to where I live.:)

Man, I'm kinda bummin' out :( I live up here in the boonies and would love to join a play group. And I know there are yorkie people up here! Hope, you've got better luck ;)

All of my family is in the cities there! I am from Bloomington! We are there for the holidays! I would love to pm you if we are up that way any other time! play dates are so much fun!!!!

Try looking on Meetup.com for Yorkie or Toy dog playgroups in your area. Thats how we found ours :)

Ours is also a rescue and although we want her play well with others she has problems with that. Just today she nipped at the neighbor. :eek: I would be too stressed to have her meet up with strangers. :(

Ours has never nipped at people, however last time I puppy sat for a hyper puppy she nipped at her. We have sat for the pup a few times now and both our cat and Yorkie seem to like her ok but she is VERY hyper and keeps jumping in their faces. I think they get tired of it so the cat smacks the pup on top of the head. Our Yorkie used to keep moving to try and get away from the pup, last time the pup followed her up on our bed and our Yorkie nipped at her. I think it was just her way of letting the pup know to stop. That's the only time that has happened since we have had her. The rest of the day went without incident.

Hello! I'm looking for a small yorkie girl. I did have a silky girl & ended up giving it away. we named her angel, but I bonded better with females... LOL ;)

Anyhow, in Metro area of MN. Just looking to see if anyone has a litter coming up with a descent price under $250.

Hello to all! I notice no recent postings to this thread, so thought I'd reply and see if the warmer weather is bringing any out to play in our area :) I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Tanner, he is 3), and I will bring my new baby Bella home to keep us company, probably next week. She is a cutie, and is 12 weeks old right now. Let me know if anyone is around this area!! Thanks, Katie

Yorkie Meet Up - Minneapolis Area
 
Hello,
We did have at one time have a Yorkshire Terrier Meet up group in the Minneapolis area (meetup.com) however, the organizer didn't want the responsibility, and it basically disolved. The meetup group is in need of a new organizer.

A smaller meet up group split off of that original group which meets in Burnsville, MN, which is a bit of a drive for us. This group is open to all small breeds. If anyone knows of any Yorkie meetups in the Minneapolis area, I'd love to hear about them!

I can forward you the next evite I get from the organizer. Unfortunatley, I don't have an old one on file to reference. They meet usually on Sundays, and it is located behind one of the Cub Foods stores in Burnsville. There is a pet food or pet related space available for the dogs to play apparently. I am sorry I don't have the details available now- let me know if you want me to private message the next evite to you or I can try to link it somehow to this forum. There are other meet ups that are located in St Paul - I have not been able to locate a Yorkie Meetup in Minneapolis. Lulu and Luigi has a new location in St Paul which offers play time, at a cost of something like $10 per dog.... anyway

It might be the Cub at 42 & 5 by the sounds of it. I can't find my way around St Paul to save my life. lol

You can mesg me when you get the next evite, that would be great. Don't know how she'll do, she probably will sit and watch the other dogs. The only time she was ever with other dogs was to mate so she doesn't know how to play etc.

I received another evite for a small dog meet up in Burnsville. The information is: Sunday, October 25, 12:00PM - Pet Suplies Plus (located next to Cub grocery store) 1800 West County Rd 42 - Burnsville, MN 55337 - Phone: 952-892-1090. Burnsville is a bit of a drive for me as I am in Golden Valley, MN. There are some other meet up groups in St Paul in which you can find at http://www.meetup.com].

We had gone to a small Yorkie meet up in downtown Minneapolis, but this is the group that moved down to Burnsville. It has changed to a small breed meet up as far as I know.
