Any YTers near Evansville? I know there is one from B'ville, just wondering if there are more. I'd love to get together at sometime. I thought this summer would be great for playdates with our babies. So if you're near Evansville please post and let me/us know. Thanks, Tammy :) |
Tammy, I've been on here for a while and just happened upon your post. I live in Newburgh. I've had Yorkies in the past but they all went with my ex for the kids in our divorce. She knows I've been wanting one for a long time though and since I've finally bought a new home and she just had a litter of pups, she's giving me one so I'm a new Yorkie Dad and my little Jackson will be coming home in about nine weeks. Actually, I just found out from my middle son she may wind up giving me both of the pups, my Jackson and his brother. Welcome to YT. It's nice to get to know some other Yorkie parents in the area. Feel free to read Jackson's whole story: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-part-2-a.html or check out the many photos I've posted here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...e-jackson.html or here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...focus-too.html or here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...ve-opened.html Take care. - Byron Followell |
Hi Byron! It's so nice to meet you :) I can feel your excitment through reading your posts! What's the official date that your little boy gets to come home? And I believe you said there's a chance that you might get both of them? Then you could have Jackson and Ozzie! We are planning a get together in the fall with all our babies. I hope you can attend and your baby(ies) will be old enough to attend then. I've been taking my girls to a groomer in Newburgh. The name of the business is Groomingdale's. I believe it's on Robin Hill Lane. We have a group here on YT called OIK friends. It's for all the Yorkie owners from Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. (maybe Illinois too?) I have two girls. Abby and Daisy. Abby was 5 months old yesterday and Daisy was 2 yrs old in April. Daisy is a teapot weighing in at nearly 9 lbs. She's very tall and thin. Abby weighs between 3.5 - 4 lbs and is very short. They look like Frick and Frack when they are together, which is all the time :) We had a little boy, who couldn't have been sweeter, but unfortunately we lost him in January. His name was Peanut. I saw that you were really hoping for a girl. Trust me when I say, they didn't come any more loving than our little Peanut. He was truly an angel. I'll pop over to your profile and send you the link to the OIK group. Take Care and I look forward to hearing more from you about your Jackson and possibly Ozzie :) Tammy |
Tammy, Thanks. Yes, I am a little excited. I have August 26 down as Jackson's twelve week birthday so sometime around then. The kids come over every other weekend and a couple of days during the week. His "birthday" falls right between two weekend visits so I'm thinking maybe having him come home for a weekend at eleven weeks with the kids, just for the weekend. I thought it might be easier on him to come over with the kids who he will be intimately familiar and comfortable with by that point. Then, he could go back with them for a week at the end of the weekend and I could bring him home the following weekend. I'm not holding my breath for the other pup but if I get him as well I've decided against Ozzie and fallen back to another name on my list. The kids have been calling him Bear so far because he was quite a bit bigger than Jackson, at least initially, and he just looks like a big teddy bear in the face. If I get him, I think I want to name him Sawyer. If work permits and Jackson (and possibly Sawyer) are old enough and had all their shots, we wouldn't miss the get-together. I really want to expose them to as many new people and animals and situations as possible early on and under safe, supervised conditions. - Byron |
