Surprised by negative comments
 
Wow. I came to this site trying to do the right thing for my two dogs and hoping someone may be able to help find a loving home for them and instead I am being criticized, judged and ridiculed by a majority of the people responding. Not what I expected! It is not anyone's place to judge me. I am going to remove my post and rely on friends and family for support for my attempts to place Rio and Frankie.

I pray you are all a bit kinder and a little less judgemental next time a new member needing help logs on.

You have to understand that most people on this site are incredibly passionate about yorkies and that can come out when seeing pets being rehomed over an expanding family and lack of time to commit to them.

I hope you don't leave, because if there is a great home to be found for your yorkies, it is here -- there are so many great people.

Just please be careful when offering an animal as free to a good home, not everyone has the best intentions so you will need to be extra diligent in screening homes. I'm not trying to be preachy, I just want your furkids to end up in a great new home :)

I hope you dont go. Even if you decide on a better-suited home than mine, YT is a WONDERFUL resource on finding a fabulous home. Not everyone will understand why you are doing this, but all I can say is that you WILL eventually find the right home. Dont leave us...if a YTer gets one or both of them, at least you'll be able to watch them grow up :)

The very best thing you can do for your little boys is swallow your pride and stick around. You will never find a better home for them than with a YT member. You can rest assured that if they were with a YT member this situation wouldnt come up and I'm sure you don't want them rehomed yet again. I know your feelings are hurt but please try to put them aside just one time for your dogs. The only reason anyone is upset is that we truly love our dogs and I'm sure that is the kind of home you want for them.

Guys, she did say that they are being rehomed not because there is a new baby coming, because she and her husband can't give them the attention they need & deserve. If she feels that they could have better lives in a new home, why do we need to talk her out of that? As yorkie lovers, we need to stand back and think. OK, so say they keep the dogs. But they have 2 toddlers and a new baby, so they dogs don't get played with and walked and exercised as much as they should. OR the dogs go to a new family, and after a time of adjustment, they live out the rest of their lives being loved and played with.

I know it might be hard to believe, but older dogs actually can love, trust, and do well with a new family. if she didn't care about her dogs, she wouldn't have searched on the internet, found YT, joined, and then posted this thread. She would have dumped them at the pound. So maybe we should show her some respect and understanding for trying to do the right thing.

To the original poster: I'm sorry your feelings were hurt. Please stick around, because you won't find a better home than on here. :)

Don't get flustered with the post. Please keep watching I am sure that some one will be more than happy to help you out. There are great people here. And if you are really wanting to give them up. You have come to the right place. Someone will jump on to them and have a wonderful home. You are right that they shouldn't judge you. So hang tight before you know it someone will be contacting you.

I agree in some way, But hun this is the internet, know one knows what hands those poor dogs will go in, what might seem like a great home may just not be, sometimes a little less attention is better then being seperated and removed from what they are use to and who they know. some cant handle that kind of stress.


wieging We are not juding you, We are thinking what is best for those poor babies of yours, we only have the best of intrest at heart. you know your self its going to be hard on those babies.

You're right, and I know that not all dogs are able to handle the kind of thing so easily. But when I measure the two, I think I'd honestly rather see a dog need time to adjust to a new life where they'll be loved, than see a dog neglected.

and sometimes the way people talk on here they act like no dog can ever be happy once they have been moved to a new family. and that's just NOT true.

it just breaks my heart when I see these new members come on here trying to do the right thing, then get their feelings hurt because people just don't understand their personal situation. :(

Shipping should not be a problem, babies are shipped, my baby flew 12 hours. and was a baby, she was fine. I would think since you are so excited and willing to take both, that they should stay together if at all possible. they could probably both go in the same cage. or at least at the same time, and know they are together.
I would rather know they are together and to some one that so really wants them both to do what I could to make it happen, before I would separate them. pooh's mum
