Well, Spike has been hospitalized since last Wedn. 10/24. We picked him up on Sunday 10/28. He has been on medication since Friday 10/26. He still isnt eating on his own so we have to assist feed him every three hours and add honey or corn surup to his gums ever time we feed to keep his sugar up. We hope this wont last for to much longer. The sleepless nights are getting to us. I will keep everyone informed and updated. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. |
Well, here is another update. Just went home for lunch and the wife has been feeding him on his schedule and giving corn surup. Well, he has been able to hold down the food, but he still seems like he has no energy. All he wants to do is sleep. His gums are light pink and he seems just to be left alone and lazy. So we called the animal hospital and they said to take him in to the vet to check things out. So, once again today he is going back to the vet. We are getting tired of all this, we have not even had the pup in our home for more than a 3 days. |

Welcome to YT...I am so sorry for what you are going through with your new fur-baby. Don't give up on him :( ...Once he is better, you will both see the sleepless nights you two have had keeping him well were totally worth it. There is nothing better to me than my Yorkies :p Did you get him from a breeder? Are they helping you pay for vet costs? |
ok, dont want to be a thread hogger or anything, but if you want some more updates go to the sick/ill part and look under coccidia. I have been updating that thread. Thanks. |
Ok, just had another update from the wife at the Vet. His sugar was low again and she just fed and gave hime karo surup. So vet doesnt know what is up. He is taking X-rays and doing other tests. For further update check out the sick/ill thread. Thanks. |
