don't know why or what it means Cozmo will roll all over the floor. Tonight for supper he put all his food on the floor and rubbed, and rolled his back all over it. What does this mean. Now remember we don't know a lot about Cozmo he is a rescue only had him 2 weeks. He has been rolling on his back all the time but tonight is the first with the food. I don't understand....... |
Lucy rolls on her back when she is happy :) She will also put food on the floor and try to smash it into her face...lol |
thats funny... my dogs roll all over bugs until they die. it's hilarious to watch. they DO NOT like bugs. actually one time Zoey found a very dead snake at my grandmas house and rolled ALL over it, she stunk sooo bad, and i had to drive home with her in the car. i was gagging... |
hmm, i think they roll in gross things because they like the smell. But with the food, i think he is marking it as his own, by rubbing his scent on it. Does he do this with other things he thinks are his? |
My one dog does this on our bed. We call it his "boogy dance". Hehe. I always thought he was just marking it as his own. Strange with the food though....maybe he likes the scent and wants it all over him? I do hope it's dry food. ;) |
Coby does this with his bully sticks and toys. I believe that they are marking them with their scent..... like in the wild they would mark a carcass with their scent to discourage other wolves from stealing the food. It's either that or they're just plain goofy. :p |
lol yes, it is dry food. I didn't know if it was marking his area. I have only notice him doing this on the carpet, chairs, couches. Thanks for all the help. |
Mine do that too. I once asked my vet why my cairn terrier used to do this with any kind of seafood. He told me she was using the scent to disguise her own scent. I asked him if that meant that if a big German Shepherd saw her from across the street, would he come running over to get her because he saw a "dog" but then when he gets there, he would stop becaus ehe realized it was not a dog, but a fish because of the smell?? Oh gee, I would have sworn that was a dog, but now I can tell it is a fish! lol Sonya |
are these boy yorkies only? b/c I have not seen such behavior ... rolling on her back, yes ... but not in the food or anything else ... |
