Three's company or three's a crowd? Hi everyone! I have 3 yorkies. My first baby Penny is a now 2 years old. My second baby Simba is now a 1 1/2 year old boy. They used to play with each other everyday until the third came along. The third baby who is named Bella, is now almost 10 months old, but I got her when she was 4 months. Anyways, I noticed since Bella came along, Penny didn't want to play anymore. She was mellow and lazy, almost as if she matured. She wasn't like that until the third came along. It was Simba and Bella who always played together. Bella would always try to play with Penny, but Penny wouldn't play with her. Recently, Penny and Bella have been playing a lot together and seems like Simba is being left out. Is having 3 yorkies causing jealousy? I am planning on adding one more. Would that be adding fuel to the fire or will it help? |
Penny doesn't play with Simba anymore. They were like best of friends before. Now Simba doesn't play with either of them since Bella started to play with Penny. I spoil each one of them. I give my attention to all three. So they can't be jealous and starving for my attention. I am on the verge of getting the 4th one. I always wanted 5 total. You know how they become so addicting. I got the yorkie fever!!! I am starting to think having too much will just make each one jealous of the other. |
i guess my topic isn't interesting enough to answer? |
Well, I have 3. Gracie...my oldest...has never been much of a player. She's very laid back. Then, London (Gracie's pup) is such a handful. Always getting into everything. Last, we have Dallas...and he's still a pup at 13 months. London and Dallas play all the time and Gracie likes to sit back and watch. |
seems like that for my babies too, but now they are switching. i just hope none of them goes into depression. aww dallas is sucha cute name. i was going to name my simba that. |

Actually my daughter named him that....and the fact we live in Texas...but I won't even mention that we're HUGE COWBOYS FANS!:D :D :D |
Im thinking of adding a 3rd dog to but Im worried 1 dog will be left out too. My husband keeps saying I have 2 hands so I only need 2 dogs but I have serious yorkie fever. Im interested how many people do well with 3 or more dogs. |

I also have three Yorkies. Penny being two may just be maturing - Jazzie, my oldest will play really hard with the "twins" (Jolie & Jen - litter mates) only when she wants to play. And all three will play together when Jazzie wants to. Otherwise the younger two will play together and Jazzie watches. I seldom see one little one play with only Jazzie - maybe it's a litter mate or age thing? All three in my opinon are well adjusted in their own way. Maybe with Bella getting older and playing more rough, Penny is keeping her space? Or Bella could be challenging Penny for the alpha dog spot? Hard to say but I do know - they will figure it out in good time. |

I'm sure they are just adjusting to Bella getting older and challenging the other two. As for Penny & Simba not playing together - maybe it's more fun playing with the new kid? |
