What Can I Do??? :aimeeyork How does one get their dog on a regular schedule? I've been consistant and Im still having some issues... No matter how consistant I am with Meka's feeding/bathroom schedule, she still pee's/poops all during the night... Why? I've read that most of you crate your pups during the night - so I know its possible for them not to go at night... Currently at 6:00 am she gets a small breakfast and around 5:30 pm she gets dinner (has no probs w/ potty during the day). I use to let her free feed during the day, but that didnt work to well because she wouldnt eat in the evenings. After dinner, she is upstairs w/ the fam for 45 min, then its downstairs to her potty pad... I have to leave her there for about 20 min cause she wont "poop" if anyone is around (??) So my question is, where is the midnight "poop" coming from if she's doing her business in the day/evening? And how in the world can I "control" it better... The reason Im asking is because she likes to sleep at the foot of our bed. And I dont mind it, but when she does, she climbs off the bed in the middle of the night to poop on my floor... and I really dont want to have a pad upstairs at night because of the smell - what can I do??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
You could put a diaper on her. My girl will go potty in the night unless she's wearing her diaper, then she holds it till morning. |
I was having "the midnight poop" problem, cute term by the way ;) . I just started pushing back the evening meal to earlier in the day (about 4:00) and giving a little nutrical around 7pm. The nutrical does well to hold him over night and the poops eventually stopped. He'll still poop in the morning if I dont wake up early enough. So I'm a little confused as to how his belly made a poop without food also. lol. Try giving the last meal earlier in the day, poopies b4 bed, and outside first thing in the morning- before breakfast. Hope this helps! |
Mine go twice a day. Once when they first get up outside in the back yard in the morning then again after dinner in the evening around 7 pm when we take them for a walk around the block. |
Thanks Sgtpeppersmommy... think you know where Im coming from w/ the midnight poops (lol). Unfortunately I dont get home from work til' 4:45pm, so there is really no way that I can feed her earlier than that... but, I'll definately try the Nutrical you suggested - Thanks :animal36 |
