The Guilts! Well, I brought my yorkie home yesterday… She’s 11 months old and so good I can’t believe it. Pad trained (okay, she misses, sometimes, but it’s close!) and very lovable. It’s only been two days and I can’t imagine life without her! I’ll post a picture soon. I've been browsing this board the past few weeks, and I can’t begin to tell you all how much valuable information I learned! Amazing! It sure made things easier and I felt much more prepared when Bridget came home… Thanks so much everyone! Okay, so now I have a few more days home with her before I go back to work. And the guilt is already setting in. Her previous owner worked full time as well, so she’s used being alone… but I don’t know if I’ll be able to take it! I’m considering hiring a pet sitter to come and give her an outing in the afternoon… or am I being overprotective? Any advice would be most appreciated! I’ve already got her “room” set up with P-Pads on one side and bed, blankets, water, toys, etc. on the other end. I’m sure she’ll be just fine, but I’m already feeling so guilty. Are there any yorkie moms in Pleasanton or nearby that would like to set up a play date? :animal-sm |
I'm sorry where is Pleasanton?..and Congrats on you baby..my Maximus is only 18 weeks but I know the GUILT TRIP...when I go to work..it does get easier!!! |
Congratulations on your new baby! You have come to the right place for all your questions. Hope to see pics soon! |
Pleasanton is in California - East Bay |
Hi congrats on your new baby..!!!!! How exciting is that. I know I always feel guilty about leaving Coco home while I work full time, but she's gotten used to it. I am moving to pleasanton in 3 weeks, but I currently live in Walnut Creek. Do you want to meet up in a week or so? Coco is getting her last set of shots beg. of July. So I think it would be fun. send me an e-mail for phone number exchange if you want to meet up for play date. Nobella and Coco :aimeeyork |
Hi and CONGRATULATIONS on your puppy - you sound like your going to be the BEST mom you can be - enjoy your new baby ! |
You sound like a perfect mama for little Bridget! I'm no help I still feel guilty going to work and I've had my monkeys for over a year ;( I take mine to doggie daycare a few times a week and I think if you can afford to hire a petsitter for walks go for it! I know I feel better when I know they are being taken care of! Just make sure you do a thorough interview with the person! See how overprotective I am? haha |
Congratulations! You will love you puppy! This is a great forum and you will love it here! Lotds of hugs and kisses to the new little one! Pat |
:congrats: Congrats on your new furbaby! I just got my little guy 10 days ago, and I work full time as well. I do feel guilty not being with him, but we all have to work I guess. I just wish I could take him to work with me - that would be awesome! :luvu: But I guess I wouldn't get any work done. Anyway, I think about getting a sitter too, but honestly my boyfriend and I don't trust anyone enough yet. Maybe we never will, but we better get used to the idea 'cause we are going to have to leave him to go on vacation in November. |
Welcome, I got my Zoey about 3 weeks ago, and she is 15 months old. She is not potty trained but I am so glad I got an adult, instead of a puppy. I don't have to go threw the whiny stage. LOL! congradulations on finding her. If she is use to being alone, I probably wouldn't mind to much going to work. But the pet sitter is a good idea. :) |
Congrats on your baby. Welcome to YT too! I got my yorkie last week, so I am with you in the excitement. Please post a picture. I'd love to see a pic of your new baby. ~Bella, General Patton, & Maria~ |
I think a pet sitter would be great. If more working owners had one, maybe they wouldn't come home to a destroyed house. Sounds like you are already a great mommy. |
Another human whose life is changed forever. Congrats on your new baby. I agree with the pet sitter idea.. |
Congratulations on your new baby. Welcome to YT. A pet sitter is a good idea. Im home all day so i really dont have any advise but I know here you will find someone that can. |
Welcome to YT. I'm sure you will do fine. I am a housewife and with him a lot, but I still feel bad if I can't take him somewhere with me. As I'm walking down the stairs I can hear his little yelps from the cage! I think pet sitters are great and you may be able to get a jr. high or high school kid that you trust to do it over the summer until puppy gets used to her new home. I always leave the TV on with Animal Planet on as well for company, a good alternative if you decide against a sitter. Good Luck. |
