First off....You are a great mother!!! You did what you had to for your baby. Accidents happen. That is just a part of life and we learn from it and move on. You did great. She is going to be okay. I hope that you are calming down and giving her tons of love. This was totally an accident. Just thought I would let you know. |
See we built pet stairs, and she just started using them last week. |
aww im so sorry kelsey. You must have been so scared. You're not a bad mom, it happens to all of us. When Teddy was smaller he fell out of my purse one time, before i even bought a carrier and i learned from that to attach their harness to the carrier. London has been dropped before and i was so scared she was going to die, see it happens to all of us so don't worry you are not a bad mommy. I hope she will be okay, praying for you! |
I hope that she heals quickly! What a scare for you! I am a mother of 4 human kids, all boy's too, one with ADHD. The ER knows our names with all the stichs, broken bones, and you name it we have taken them in for a check over!! ( one swallowed a finishing nail when they were 2 and needed daily x ray's till it passed!) Things Happen, it does not make you a bad parent! Their is a difference between neglect and accident and I certainly do not see you as a neglectful parent to your 2 pups. |

AWe, thank you. I can def use one. :D |
How's she doing? (and how are you doin?) Don't worry sweetie, Oliver was in the car with me one day, I opened the door of the car and he fell right out on the ground right on his face. I was standing right at the door, I don't know how in the world he could've fallen out. He screamed and cried and I cried and cried. It was an accident. You are not a bad mom. I hope all is well. You all need a relaxing evening. I hope she's doing well and recovering quickly. |
Shes laying on her bed now. I am laying here right beside her in my bed:) I hope she gets to feeling better, we planned on going to the dog park tomorrow! |

I have given her some water. Not Nutri Cal, guess I should give her some. Shes not eating. I tried but she didn't want anything. |
You can make a formula with half and half, karo syrup(or honey or aunt jemima syrup), baby grits and a jar of baby food that has meat in it but not turkey and mix it all up. Microwave so its warm and try to feed it to her. I did this for London when she was sick once and it worked. I fed with a syringe. That's if she doesn't eat her food. |
Thanks for that recipet!!! Guess I need to add baby food to my list of things..lol. |
i'm glad to hear that your fur baby is ok!! :D |
Oh you poor thing! I can't even imagine how scared you were! We all know you are a great mommy and accidents can happen to any of us. You did everything right and handled a terrifying situation beautifully. It sounds like she will be fine but you need some TLC. Don't forget to take care of yourself too. Big hugs to you and Dakota! |
You, a bad mom? NOT AT ALL! In fact, I think you are one of the best Yorkie moms I have ever seen. Accidents happen. There are so many things that can go wrong, even things nobody thinks of. We've had accidents with Ellie too. That's just what they were though, accidents. Please go easy on yourself. |
Prayers on the way, hope your Baby is ok ! |
Please don't beat yourself up! You're a great yorkie Mommy:) These little guys are fast and accidents happen before you know it. Hope your little one is back to normal quickly |
I have come to a conclusion. Smaller yorkies have more accidents. Bc Dakota is too small to jump on teh bed and off. Shes small enough to fit into a purse, as opposed to a bigger yorkie. |
ok found it Bookmark this page http://kitchen.robbiehaf.com/PetHomeRemedies.html I found this on this site sometime ago and bookmarked it, in case of emergency. It has good info to have. As always these things usually happen at night or weekends after the vets office is closed... Best of luck with your little one. |
Thanks. I got it bookmarked!!!!! |
So sorry this happened to little Dakaota:( Hope she is doing better. Big hugs to you and Dakota! |
Yes, I agree. Smaller Yorkies are lots more delicate and needy. I like that Ellie is over five pounds cuz she has fallen before with no problem. |
I don't have to worry about Aubrey falling bc he can make it ok with no problems, dakota can't!!! i don't think she understands how small she really is. |
we'll be thinking of Dakota ;) and you're not a bad mom. Bella's a jumper. She's never fallen off a bed but she has jumped right out of my arms. It's a horrible feeling when they hurt but you can't blame yourself. |
Just wanted to say- You are a great mommy to your two little ones. Accidents happen. That is why they are called accidents. It sounds like you handled everything just right. I am sure you must have been scared out of your mind. I am glad to hear that Dakota is feeling somewhat better. Hope you have a quiet night and she is back to her old self in the morning. I think the new thread for emergencies will be a great idea. Hang in there.... |
Heres an update: She seems to be doing a little better today. I just gave her some more baby asprin she ate like normal, she played a little bit, so it looks like she feels a little better:) Thank God!! And thanks everyone that prayed for us!!! We really really appreciate!!! There is soo many nice ppl on yorkie talk:)!! |
