I need opinions and/or help......
 
I've been thinking what if I didn't sale Cocoa but, had someone take him in and train him? Since I'm in school full time and have found it hard to train him with what little time I have that would be perfect so, I wouldn't have to sell him. I would pay of course (but, couldn't pay in one big lump sum). Is that even realistic? If so, are there any takers? :)

I hope someone can help you. It sounds like you really want to keep him.
I wish I lived near, I would love to babysit/train him for you.

I sooo want another yorkie, but have realised that two is all we can handle as we take them everywhere with us and if we had another they would have to stay home:(

I'm sorry you are having trouble with Cocoa, and quite frankly cannot believe you cannot find him a great home, but I don't know if the training idea is a great one. First of all, he is a yorkie, and they just have a lot of personality (STUBBORN!) and energy...so he's not going to lose his energy. Also, for someone else to train him and then you to take over probably won't work because yorkies listen to who they're supposed to listen to and not others.

Now, let me close by saying...I am not a trainer (NOR ANYWHERE CLOSE) and I've got two bratty little yorkies (who I love dearly), so I don't know..maybe the training would work?? I hope you get some more opinions on this and possibly someone to help you out.

I think that is a wonderful idea and I feel sure it would work. I hope you can find someone. Good luck!:)

Is there any way you could have a trainer come to your house to work with you and Cocoa when your schedule permits?

I feel like training is a personal thing, IMO and a bond that needs to be built between the owner and the dog.

I don't know your schedule, but a lot of progress can be made working on training even a half hour a day. It may not be an instant change, but I'm sure things would improve.

I wish I could help, but I am no training expert. You know there are academys that you can take them two. They learn to be potty trained, and obedience stuff. Theres a lady near me that has a school like that and she does it out of her house.

How long would you be thinking someone would keep him with them? It just breaks my heart to see you struggling with him and not being able to find him a home after all this time.

i think its honestly crazy you have not found him a home!! I mean you are doing all you can and only selling him for 350.00! I know this must be soo stressful!! please just be persistent and have patience and i know someone will take him.

As for training him as far as your schedule goes i dont know what to say. i feel so bad for you and all your going through to better your life and i see your trying to better his life too! I wish a YTer would take him.

this is just a option and i dont know if you want to but would you be about to rehome him for free to the right home of course after tons and tons of questioning the person? Just saying that might help you a little. Hopefully someone close will contact you!

Yes, I would love to be able to keep him but, if I don't find that realistic then I will have to find him a new home. I couldn't imagine having more than 2 dogs right now! Thank you for your advice!

I can't believe it either....one lady did tell me its because he is bigger than most yorkies, chocolate and has floppy ears. I didn't tape his ears because I really didn't care either way if they stood up or were floppy. I let nature do its thing, lol. I love his floppy ears; I think they are cute. He is such a sweetheart too. Yeah, the training idea may not would work because of what you said but, it may work and may be worth a shot. I got Daisy (my chihuahua) when she was a year and 1/2 and she was already trained and has had no problem listening to me. Thank you for your help!

I could do that but, right now its not in my budget. I will look into it though maybe after Christmas if other options don't arise. We did go to a puppy obedience class but, I feel he was too young and didn't pay attention. Thank you for your advice!

I will have to look into that and see if there is anyone around here that does that. I know there are trainers who do private lessons. Thanks!

I think its crazy too! I thought for sure he would be a hit, lol. I really would rather him go to someone from YT. Thank you for your advice and concern! You are all so nice!
