Needle Aspirate Price and Pain Involved? How much does everyone's vet charge for them? Is there a ton of pain involved? If your vet is concerned about a lump and does xrays to see if it has spread, how many xrays do they do? |
It's about $15 here... That's if they look at it in house. If it's sent to a lab to look at I think then it's around $75. I've had lumps aspirated on a dog before, they hardly seem to notice. I would think they would do at least two xrays... One from the side and one from top to bottom.... But every place is different. If you called 'em, I'm sure they could give an idea of what they normally do as well as the pricing. |
I hope Kelly's right about the pain, I've seen aspirations done on humans before and the pain seemed unbearable. :( |
My Mini Schnauzer had a lump aspirated, she didnt make a peep. I dont recall the price. I know it was about $600.00 when we had to have it surgically removed. |
Thanks Guys. I thought they were gonna charge me like $200 to aspirate. That probably isn't the case. I really hope it doesn't hurt her. I did talk to the vet this am and she said we may have to aspirate it. |
I've never had an aspiration done for a dog or animal that I have owned but I had one done on myself. It was about two three to two years ago when they diagnosed me with hypo-thyroid. I can say that it is a bit uncomfortable but not painful. Well at least the one I had done wasn't painful. They numb the area of my neck where they did the aspiration but it all went well. I wish and hope that all goes well with your baby. |
Aww, thanks. I think she's okay but her lumps still might have to be removed. She's getting spayed anyway so we would just do it then. |
