Wills for Doggies Has anybody included guardianship of their doggies in your will? I'm trying to decide who I'd want to take my doggies, if something happened to me. |

Oh wow. I hadn't actually thought of this. This is a really important thing to consider though. Thank you for mentioning it. I need to have a will and power of attorney drawn up, I'll make sure to include this. |

i dont have a will for my dog, but my mom will take her of course cause she a part of me... unless im married then my husband will have her.. in my will, mom get everything first |

My Bella was first given to my sister in law who couldnt keep her... So I bought her as I had been looking for a yorkie!! Now that Bella is older and my SIL has settled I know she would love to take care of her.!! And then there are my husbands parents. They would love her too. Funny how they ask about Bella now before they ask about me... j/k!!! |

Yep same thing here my mom is a part of me too. i'm single.. so my mom gets everything including Cody James! |

I worked at a law firm in college for 2 1/2 years that did estate planning. My boss could never stress enough even to people my age (25 currently) or anyone over the age of 18 to have a WILL, POWER OF ATTORNEY, AND A LIVING WILL. All 3 are extremely important to have, they can always be changed to include spouses or exclude spouses and what-not. I have seen the dangers of not having these documents and a will is simply not enough! |

My problem is that I can think of several relatives that I don't want my doggies to be with, but can't think of one that I would definitely want them with. I don't think my hubby would want to keep all of ours, but I know he'd find them good homes. |

We don't have anything "formal" but we do have someone on that "God Forbid" list. We picked a dear friend who spoils her own dogs like we spoil ours. We know that she will take good care of them. |

We have it formally written in our will. She goes to Thomas in case something happens to me and my ex-husband if something happens to the both of us. Same with our two cats. We did this a few years ago and just added Lucy. |

My husband and I did our will finally in April. I included in it 2500.oo per dog I have at time of my death to be used for their care. My dtr will take Cali and she would either give Pixie to a family member or a YT member if my husband wasn't able to keep her. She has instructions on what to do. |

My mom wants Wobie if anything ever happened to me, but if she couldn't take care of him, I gave her a few names of people on yorkietalk to talk to. :D |

I never thought of it, and to tell you the truth I don't know who I'd leave them too. Now you got me thinking. |

I think about that alot and realy worry, my daughter loves my babies, but has no understanding about how i treat them ,as she says they are like all other dogs...THEY ARE NOT !!!! And realy dont know what to do. They have never been away from me and i know how they act when i am only gone a couple of hrs...and mind you, when i am gone my Mother is with them.... |

My guys will go to my husband, and if something happens to both of us, one of my daughters will take them. |
