What if she's sick Does anyone know the signs of a bladder infection?? Today Coco was peeing a lot, I mean A LOT. All morning she was fine, then I took her by the pool with me, and tied her to the chair so she wouldn't jump in. I set her in the shade, with ice water, toys, towel, ect. When we came in from that, I noticed she was peeing clear/light yellow every 15 minutes. Then at the mall, she peed ON ME, while I was holding her. She NEVER does that. She usually just wiggles around and whimpers and I know she needs to go. But it was like she had lost control today. The evening was better. She drank A LOT of the ice water though at the pool because it was hot. Could it have been just that? Or could she have a bladder infection? I left her vet a message but I wanted to know what you guys think. |
I don't know if this is helpful but both of my babies have been drinking tons of water (more than usual) since its been so hot outside. They have also been going to the bathroom a lot more than usual! And yes, sometimes it is clear like it's just water. Is she acting like she doesn't feel well? Mine are hyper as ever, just thirsty ;) I hope you get some answers and sorry I couldn't be more help! |
As long as the urine is clear I don't think it would be an infection. It's so darn hot here my boys have been eating ice cubes like crazy. If she drank a lot that's probably what it was. I don't think I would worry, just watch her today. |
Maggie has been PPing a lot too. It's so hot in Texas, there isn't much to do except stay in the pool or AC. When she is in the pool, she tries to drink about half of it. When we go in the house, it seems like she is ringing the bell on the doorknob about every five minutes. |
infection Talk to the vet to be sure, as you are doing..as a rule with an infection there can be blood in the urine..and they keep squatting and nothing comes out..they have to force a few drops. Yorkies don't always do well in the heat..even with shade and ice water..be careful. |
I hope it's just water overload and nothing serious. Hope little Coco feels better soon. |
Sailor like that one day, she peed like 5 times in a hour, and we grew worried...so we took her to the vet and found out she did have a bladder infection, the vet said that if she pees more than twice an hour than it is not normal... But now that it is summer and so hot, our girls drink more which means they pee more, but if you are worried I would see the vet!! Magic and Sailor hope the Coco gets better soon.... |
Hope CoCo is nirmal soon. Anything out of the ordinary like this is always worrisome. I am sure she is fine. :) |
I don't have a girl Yorkie, but TJ has been drinking a lot too because it's so hot and his pee is clear. I'm sure it's nothing. She probably just drank a lot, but if you are really worried, than I would just talk to your vet about it. |
She seems good today. She peed like normal this morning and hasn't been needing to go as often. I think she just drank a lot yesterday. There was no blood or anything, her urine was just clear as day. The thing that got me worried was that she peed on me (like she lost control), because she never does that. Has anyone elses baby ever peed on them, while holding them? |
Maximus peed on my boyfriend when we first got him at about 11 weeks...he had just gotten a vaccine and he wasn't feeling good..but that was the first and last time. He had maybe 1 accident after that and then he was pretty good with the pee...maybe she was just hot and irritable from the heat and that was the cause of the incident |
I forgot to mention, she's more energetic than ever. doesn't seem like she's not feeling good. Then it must have been just the heat and excess water right?? |
