Hi, new here and new to Yorkies
 

Hi all, I've been reading this site since I knew I was getting a Yorkie.

He is my first Yorkie of many pets over the years. I have lots of questions and have been trying to read all posts pertaining to my questions.

But, I'm kind of lost. Last night or early this morning I posted a picture of Gizmo and I can't find it:confused:

Anyway, Gizmo is three months old, he is SO adorable! I'm taking him for a checkup in the morning, all looks good except he is rubbing his ears. He came with a health certificate but I want to have him checked out to be sure. I'm hoping he doesn't have an ear infection!

I'm really enjoying reading this site with all the helpful information and totally enjoying the pictures of your lil' babies :)

Every time I see an Avatar picture of "your babies" I'm going OH or AWW :) They are ALL SO beautiful!!

I'll post more pictures of him as I take them, thank you.

I've read on here and other places it is suggested to brush him every day. I've been doing this and he doesn't like it very much. I mist him with a spray of mink oil conditioner I bought for him and he hates it. Yesterday after I wiped his eyes, cleaned his ears and brushed him, he hid from me :( And, I haven't brushed his teeth yet...lol

I sure hope he will get use to this and not hate me:confused: Other than that he is my shadow at all times.

I have two Rat terriers as well and boy are they jealous, especially my female. I try to show the others as much attention, it's not easy as even Gizmo is jealous of them... He growls and barks at them when they get too close:eek:

I'm sure they will get used to each other in time!

I also have an Australian Shepard and her and Gizmo get along fine.

I do have one question, when is the best time to have Gizmo groomed "hair cuts"? He is three months old and SO cute the way he is. Only I worry about the hair around his eyes bothering him.

I've always found that it is best to start taking them to the groomer once they get all of their shots, just so they can get used to it. the first few times are very scary to a pup...with the scissors and clippers...new people..other dogs....so you want them to get used to it as early as possible. This will make it easier for you, the pup, and the groomer.

Gizmo is at the groomer's as I type. I'm waiting for a call to pick him up.
