Maximus is HUMPING..I think!!! Okay so we went to visit my boyfriend's family and Maximus has this "monkey"/"bear" looking creature that he has taken over (it used to belong to one of the kids)....well today he was attacking it as usual and all of a sudden..HIS BOOTY IS GOING UP AND DOWN ON IT??????...how early do they start doing humping?...I am trying to say he wasn't humping the animal and it's impossible..but is it possible...he is only 18 weeks..and I was not planning on having him neutered for at least another 1-1/2...because with me having to possible go away in mid-July or August..I don't want to be "away" the week before or after the surgery...so sometime in September I was planning on having the neutering at which point he will be 7 months...is this too long to wait? My vet says between 4-6 months ..but I heard 7-8 is better and I am hoping he will be a little bigger also (he isn't small small now)..but every little bit makes me feel better. |
I would wait a little longer! |
He was just practicing .... Too cute. yes....he was humpin :) Your baby is becoming a man :D just kidding - mine did it young but not very often....lol..My post doesn't help much does it ? |

It's more than a coincidence I've heard it said that twice might be a coincidence, but three times is a trend. Please note, Yorkie Talkers, this is the third little one that is getting off with a stuffed monkey toy. First it was Magilla...then someone yesterday posted about another stuffed monkey. This is the third! Hmmmm....definately a pattern. I think the monkeys are MAKING them do it!!! (I always did think that stuffed monkeys were kind of demonic!) |
Okay! We want pictures!!!!! Just kidding! :D |

I thought he was a little young, but I guess not. Sue |
When I got Prince, he was 9 weeks old. About 2 weeks later he started humping EVERYTHING! I was shocked as well, but I later found out that he was doing it as a territorial thing not a sexual thing. |
LOL....the funny thing is he's never humped anything except that monkey/bear mutation (it really is funny looking)..it has monkey legs and arms with a bear face and monkey tail....and he did it 2x yesterday..but he hasn't started "marking yet" and doesn't pick up his leg...is this coming up soon??? |
Humping My male NEO did this at a young age too and the vet told me that it was a form of being in charge(if that makes any sence)so what i did was every time i saw him start i would make a distraction and he would stop. They told me not to incourage it. Heather |
I have had many dogs (all males) and neutering always fixed their major problems. None of them have ever marked anything (other than lifting their lrg to go potty) and none of them have ever sprayed. Sometimes, my male dogs have humped after being neutered, but that's no big deal. They can't do any harm if they are neutered. Ya know? |
LOL...I was just so shocked...I had NEVER seen him to do that till yesterday..lol..my face must have been PRICELESS..lol..I could feel my jaw hanging..he-he..well no tt=eeth have fallen out yet and I don't want them to have to pull all of them???...so I have to wait and call my vet tommorrow to see what he says...if he is just humping once ina while maybe I can wait till September for the neutering or do you guys think that is too long???..he will be 7 months...I am trying to have a time when I know that I will be able to be with him for 3 days and then my bf for 2 while he is recovering..and that will be sometime in the next month or 2 |
