I need help!! How do I let go of one of my little babies??
 

I was dreading the day this would become a reality and it has, Tinkerbell's babies are 8 weeks and 2 days now, and I now soon they must part from me, how to do it?? I had it in my heart that one of the babies would go to Albert's mom, the stud, luv4yorkies, but how do I let go of the other one, my hubby says I can only keep one of them and military housing only allows for 3 pets per living quartes:(. How do I hand out one of my babies to a stranger?? OMG, I feel so stressed out about it:( . Today I spoked to Albert's mom and she finally decided on one of the puppies, I am happy I will most likely get to see him again, but what about the other one?? :( :( What to do????????????????????????:(

Maybe sell him to a YT.

If you sold him for a little bit less than what you were planning to, I'm sure it'd make him even more demandable. :)

I feel so bad for you. I don't think I'm cut out for breeding for that exact reason! Good idea to home him with someone on YT so you can watch the baby grow????

Well ya know, you could always send him over to my house (hey, and I am in Texas, too! LOL) and I promise you'd get pictures every SINGLE day of him! :D LOL. Awww, I'm only kidding of course :( But anyone here who knows me knows what a picture nut I am :p lol.

Honestly though, I do feel soooo sooo very sorry for you :( I can only IMAGINE how hard this must be on you. That's why honestly I don't think I could ever be a breeder :( I just get TOO attached way too quickly and I know that I would just wind up with a house FULL of Yorkies :D They truly do become your babies, and I know it has got to be just SO incredibly hard to let them go :cry:

I can just FEEL your pain in your post....I truly am so sorry sweetie :cry:

that has to be the hardest part of breeding ... letting go of the sweet things ....

my little one just had four babies and they are five weeks old now.I know they will have to leave in a few weeks I know how you feel I dont want to let them go. But I have to I cant keep any I have three dogs and a very small apt.I wish you luck just make sure they will be loved in their new homes.

Make sure you do like my breeder did, DRILL me for information about me and my family and where we live etc before she agreed. It is not only about money, but to make sure you KEEP in contact with the breeder and send pics etc. I am in constant contact with mine and she watches him grow, she still gives me many tips and help with his upbringing. You want to be that kind of breeder and also sell to someone like me, who will keep in contact with you. Make sure the puppy is not only sold to someone who is willing to pay. Make sure you kow a bit about their background. This is the best advice I can offer. It is not about money, but about the puppy and his wellbeing in his new home and new mommy

I bought my puppy on July 29th and to this day I write my breeder at leat three to four times a week. We keep in constant contact and she knows for a fact that my puppy is in very safe and caring loving hands. I think many breeders sell a dog and really that is the end. I prefer the breeders who say they want updates on the pup:D . I have utmost respect for those types of breeders. So many times breeders sell a a dog for the money and forget they existed, they were only a number.

I can never breed, cuz I wont be ablet to part with them:eek:

For me -- I let my intuition do a lot of my decision making -- during the lengthy phone interview I listen for tones in the voice and anything that makes me uncomfortable. If there is ANYTHING I don't feel right about it ends there.

I don't rely much upon personal references because all too often references are friends, family, etc, people who the prospective buyer KNOWS will give rave reviews. I mean who in the world would supply a reference who would say something negative. The only reference exception is a vet. A professional animal health care specialist would be less likely to sugar coat a report on a prospective puppy purchaser.

Then, as silly as this might sound, when a prospective new puppy parent comes into my home, I stand back and watch for a while -- their first reaction, the dogs first reaction, what do they do? Do they come into my home and sit on my floor and wait for the pups to come to them or do they chase after the little ones and try to scoop them up? Are the people clean and quiet? What kind of car do they drive? I look at their faces and watch their hands. Generally the first "personal inverview" lasts at least a couple of hours and when the right person comes along for the right puppy, I just "know" and trust that feeling. I try to work with those individuals.

I want people who are going to treat my dogs better than I do and I treat my dogs pretty darn good. Mor me, it isn't hard to watch them drive off when they are cradled in someone's arms andthe new puppy parent is crying tears of joy. I watch my new friends leave with their new family member and usually I shed a tear or too as well.

Thank You for all your help and advice, I wish it was easier, I told my husband how hard it would be for me to let them go and he still insist on getting rid of one:( :( I will make sure he goes to a great home. I always sit back and wonder, Who will take care of him the way I have??:(

If i had not already committed to buy this one boy I would have taken yours. Cuz you will be guaranteed to see him growth, but oh well. I hope you get him a loving good home, maybe choose an OLDER person

All you can do is try to find the most loving home possible. Maybe you can do a home inspection so that you\'ll feel better.
