Naming your babies I have a while to think on a name for my newest addition but I'm having a really hard time. Our last 2 dogs are still babies and their names are Chloe and Bella, not realizing that I was picking what is likely the 2 most popular female dog names going on right now. LOL I want to be much more involved in finding the perfect name for my next one, what i'm wondering is how you all went about finding the perfect name, what brought you to your final decisions |

I always pick "people" names for my pets - not something like Fluffy, Sparky, Spot, etc. Since Lacy's name starts with an L, I plan to name my next yorkies "L" names too. I won't be able to get more for a couple more years most likely but I already have London and Lexi picked out for my next two girls. And if I get a boy maybe Leo, but he might have to have a name with a different letter. If I get a maltese, she would probably have something different than an "L" name but I'm not sure yet... For my Himalayan cats I have Kira and Sophie. I'm thinking my next Himalayans will also have "S" names. I want a Flame point and either name her Soleil or Summer. And then I Lilac point with an "S" name but don't know what yet. |
Okay...........this is going to sound super stupid. I had known since Prissy (belongs to my sister-in-law YT-crb) became pregnant with her last litter that I was getting one of her babies. I shopped for my baby before she was ever born.............also made payments on her to.......HA HA. I had came up with a list of names. Then one night I was watching Deal or No Deal and listening to the names of all the 26 girls, when they called number 13 and her name was Layla I fell in love with that name. I added to my list and of course ask my sister-in-law which she like best and she also pick Layla out of the list of names I had. Form that day on her name was Layla, they started calling her Layla from day one and at 12 wks we I got to bring her home she already knew her name.........It was great!!! |
I don't have a Yorkie yet but I already picked out some names that I liked. I'm not a big fan of naming my pets typical animal names either. The name I liked was Itzel (pronounced eat-cell). It's the Mayan moon goddess. For the middle name I liked Mirai, which means future in Japanese, or wonderful in Basque. My name also means wonderful, so it's kind of cool that our names will share meanings. :D |
