Could I attach a D-ring to a sweater? I posted another topic about this but I can't find it. It's probably just to fair back to find. I have a question that hopefully can be answered. Maybe some of the YT vendors might have some experience and can help me out! :D Do you think I could attach a D-ring to a sweater? I'm thinking it'd probably stretch the sweater out and mess it up but I thought I'd asking. What do you think? I had the seller make a hole for the D-ring but it's kind of ugly. :p |
I wouldn't do it. For safety concerns especially. JMO but anything stretchy such as knit (tshirts), fleece (hoodies) etc should not have a d ring on it. |
I did it. I sewed seam binding tape, folded over so it is double thick, on the underside of the garment. then I used the same tape folded over on the outside of the Garment, securing it by sewing it to the tape underneath. I used the tape on the outside as a base to hold the D-ring, which I sewed in with more seam binding tape folded over. I did not have much issue with it stretching or pulling, it was secure. |

She's not a puller. Actually she prefers to lag behind or be carried. :D |

Bumping once. |
I probably made it sound harder than it is. Just think of sandwiching the sweater between two pieces of sturdy fabric to form a base upon which to attach a D ring in the manner as you usually would. Think of an oreo cookie. The sweater is the creamy middle. The fabric is the chocolate cookies. Gracie was a bit of a puller. I used the easy leader harness with the leash attachment at the chest rather than the back. That worked wonders to break the pulling habit. Now she just uses a D-ring on her clothes or a standard harness. |

How would it look if I put the harness OVER the sweater? To bad they don't make clear harnesses. ;) Do they make REALLY thin ones?? |

I like to use chattiesmom's step in harnesses when I have a t shirt or sweater on Tink. It wraps around the armpits and then snaps at the top so it doesn't cover much of the outfit |
