Does your vet make housecalls? I can't believe the dedication shown by my vet! I love that man! You probably haven't all seen that my daughter's yorkie, Kirby has a ruptured disc in his back and in terrible pain, not to mention that he could end up paralyzed. I took care of Kirby while my daughter worked today and my vet called to see how Kirby was doing. He called again later and then he called about 6:30 to ask if it was okay if he stopped over to check Kirby! I am so grateful to have him for our Vet! He said the carrier I had Kirby in was too big and now Kirby has to be in a cat carrier, so that he cannot move around at all. That poor baby. He is now on prednisone, tramadol, a sedative and pepcid to help his tummy with all the meds. Poor little sweetie. I hope the sedative helps him sleep through the pain. I'm so worried about him, but was so impressed that my vet cared enough to make a house call! He's the best! Kirby happens to be Maddie's brother from the same litter. I love that little guy! |
sounds like a great vet. I love my vet, but he doesnt have a very nice receptionist. |
No! my vet charged me for a call she made to me and I was not aware they did it. Went to pay my 30.00 that was now 98.00. I had told the first lady that called me to have her call so I could .save the well need money around here |
That is a very dedicated sweet vet!!! Hope Kirby has a restful night. |
That is a great vet!!! You are blessed to have one like that. Mine makes house calls (we have never had to have that done), but I don't know what the charge is. She also doesn't charge if we call her to ask a question. Poor little guy! Give him soft hugs and kisses from all of us! |
Yep, my vet makes house calls and has never charged. I do live in the poorest state of a very poor country and he has never tried to take advantage of my "gringa-ism." I was worried about my Delilah and went to another vet for a second opinion today. He did blood work, 2 x-rays, 2 office visits in one day and threw in a nail clipping. The total charge? About $30 US. His equipment isn't state of the art. The x-ray machine hangs from a rope, but it works! Best of all, he agreed 100% with my regular vet and I didn't tell the new one I was getting another opinion. |
Connie it sounds like you have a rare gem of a Vet. How lucky you are to have someone so caring while poor little Kirby is suffering so. I hope he recovers soon and is back to being a rough and tumble ankle biter. Sending hugs :ghug: |
Wow, I wish there were vets like that around here... |
What a great Vet  i'd be hanging on to that one for life ! Hope Kirby is feeling better soon, it's so hard to see a little one suffer ! |
aww poor thing, hope is not in alot of pain and the med help. You do have a great vet. |
Your vet sounds wonderful! Jamie and I have an appointment with his new vet next Tuesday for his 3rd set of puppy shots. I have gotten several great recommendations about them and when I called they were great. I don't know if they make house calls yet. I certainly hope they are as caring as your vet. |
vet housecalls Every year our wonderful vet makes a house call to innoculate, deworm and check the health of our 4 dogs (of which one is our Yorkie baby) and our 5 cats. At the last visit he also microchipped our Yorkie. It makes life so much easier not having to take them all to the vet for these annual shots etc. And he doesn't charge for the house call. He only charges for the actual drugs used. We are so grateful to have such a fantastic vet.:D  |
My vet use to come out to give shots when we had litters of puppies. |
