Does anybody use a litter box? Do any of you use some sort of litter box instead of a pee pad? When Mia goes to the restroom after she is done she kicks her hind legs like shes trying to put dirt on her poop. So I was thinking maybe she will do better on some sort of litter box. What do you guys think? |
I was wondering the same thing. Keeley has a habit of one foot on and missing the pad by a few inches. If we had a litter box he'd have to go in it so there wouldn't be that miss it by a few inches going on. Because right now I cheer him on and give him treats even when he misses because I know he is trying to hard and *thinks* he is doing what we want. |
I just bought a litter box for macy but im going to put her pee pad in there. I wasnt crazy about the litter stuff. Im hoping to get her used to it soon!!! For some reason she has decided that my daughters room is her potty place ugh. I bought some drops to put on the pee pad and im hoping that works wish me luck :D . |
They are just so stubborn when it comes to potty training! I use wee pads but have not had too much luck yet, hope it changes soon! |
There are some great internet sites with advice on litter box training. I know the experts like to use a different litter than what is sold in the pet stores. It is some kind of wood shaving or something. If yiu google "litter box dog" I think it will come up. Good luck |

Maggie does that too, but it's outside on the grass. If you get a litter box, better have tall sides or you will have litter kicked all over the room. |
This is the most frustrating thing for me and Chewy is driving me nuts. He will pee on the pad but poos all around the house. I don't know what to do!!!!! Is there a certain smell in the litter stuff that will make them poo there like to wee pad smell? |

I use a litter box for the bunny but not for the dogs. Can you really litter box train a dog? |
Our old chi Rosie was litter box trained it's no more difficult then pee pad training. We used newspapers to line it as all the litter at the time was designed for cats and it would get stuck to her paws and between her pads. We used it when she was too young to go out and when she got so old she didn't want to go out much it was also very useful when she was in season. |

Also, I use a litter box, but I just put piddle pads in it (like ssguzzy828) because Riley and TJ like to eat the litter. I love the litter box! It is so easy to clean up and it is just the best invention in the world! Good luck everyone! :D |

Tuck was started on the litter box by his breeder, so I just went with it. It has taken time, but he's doing really well - at least with the pee - he likes to go hop in my shower to poo - which ain't great, but its better than the carpet... Dana |
