I signed the petition. I hope someone can post in on other forums. I know alot of my maltese family would sign. It just breaks my heart - maybe because I am a mother of 2 young girls & I can just imagine how heartbreaking this is for them.:cry2: I think exceptions should be made in some cases. With this rescue's policies, we would have never been able to have our Abbey in our lives & she couldn't be more Spoiled & loved!:luvu: |

Mutts and Moms Has pretty much Closed All of the Pet finder and other websites... I Think that if they would Stop being Bull Headed they could get great Publicity for their cause on this.... But it may be to late. I am still in shock that they only let dogs go to homes with kids over 14. I would love to tell the lady how wonderful my 9 year old is with her Yorkie! Has anyone on YT ever got a dog from Mutts and Moms? |

the whole thing is just sad, i understand they have rules but really 14 years old? there are pleanty of kids out there younger then that who are excelent with small dogs. since the dogs was already there i would think they would have given them a chance to prove they are responsable kids before they took the dog away. |

I posted the petition on a couple of forums that I frequent and there has already been a response. Not sure it will help, but at least it is something. |

I remember asking to volunteer at a shelter near me and they had this whole list of ridiculous rules! I am less than 6 months away from being 16.. They told me I had to wait until I was 16 to volunteer even though they are shorthanded and are at full capacity.. I think that shelters can be too demanding of people.. They keep the dogs in the shelter and Ellen\'s right they don\'t have a home or a family.. I feel bad for them.. And they should have investigated first who the family was.. I mean I can understand takign the dog away for a few days to investigate the family but not permanatly when he had a great family and a home to put him back in a shelter. |

I agree, the Shelter should have looked into the circumstances of the case, checked out the family to make sure that it is indeed a suitable home and that the kids are responsible, and signed a new contract with the new family. End of story, everyone wins. I just watched a clip where the owner of Mutts & Moms has said she now has NO intention of returning Iggy to this family after the way SHE has been treated. Well, I thought shelters were supposed to be out for the well being of the DOG not this woman\'s stubborn pride! |
