Blonde Yorkies I've started my new Yorkie search. I've decided to look for a blonde yorkie. Of course its probably going to still have black or silver, but I'm trying to find one that is mostly blonde. My friends have told me to look for parents who are really blonde to begin with. They said their pups will have a better chance of being lighter. Also, I've found a few completely blonde ones that were only a few weeks old. I was wondering since most yorkies' hair changes color as they get older, is there a chance that a blonde puppy could possibly get darker? |
Anybody?? Lol... |
I doubt it..But, the llitter of pups my Daisy had one is now mostly blonde Daisy was lite and Dad was dark The pup was awlful looking while the blonde was comeing through. she always looked dirty..she is 6 months now and almost all blonde still some gray on back.. and very pretty when she doesn't role in the dirt her siblings are mix color mostly lite |
I think they'd stay blonde. When they change the colors get lighter not darker. Good luck in your search. :) |
are you meaning like the golden/red yorkies? I know there's a couple floating around on here. Julz (I think) is the one that comes to mind. |

My blonde Yorkie looked like she met the breed standard when I bought her at 8 weeks. The change was gradual, but now she is a true blonde with slightly darker hair on her head. I think she's a beauty. |
I have 3 Blonde Yorkies! When I first saw a "Yorkie" in person, it was a Blue/Gold or Blonde! I had my heart set on one rather than the Black/Tan, no offense to any one else that has a dark one.......I just prefered that Coloration. When I purchased my first one Artie, my male (he's almost 4 yrs. old) I requested through the Breeder's exactly what I was looking for besides the Color, I also wanted small erect ears, a short nose and round dark eyes and of course as close to the Yorkie Standard as possible? About a year and a half later I found my second one a female, Abigail is almost 3 yrs. old, they had Puppies last year and I kept the smallest one @ 4 lbs. and she is a year old now. All 3 of their Puppies have turned Blonde, but both Parents were Blonde! During Summertime when they are in the "Sun" alot, they get even lighter! More brighter like "Platinum Blonde"? If you check their "Pedigree", not only for the "Champions" in their Bloodline, under their names they will also have a "Color Description" so you can check what Colors they are Registered under w/c is Blue/Gold, a color code. Unfortunatly all Yorkie Puppies are born Black/Tan and turn/change colors quite a few times in their Lifetime, but once they turn Blonde, they may get lighter but they will never be darker or change to Black/Tan. That is their true color. I will try to post pictures later, sorry this post is so long........Good Luck, I hope this helps? |
I wish to have her color in my hairs naturally. 1 Attachment(s) My kissie is blonde (head, chest, legs), only the body is dark. That is the way a yorkie has to be. Totally blonde is not the standard. |
