Smelly dog ? after about a year having our yorkie she started to smell. We can give her a bath and if we leave her in the house right after it fine. It starts when we let her out to potty (5 mins) and bring her back in and she smells bad. My wife does not want to bring her in the house anymore because of it, But my wife will go before the yorkie (Ha, Ha) Any suggestions ? |
They do have "doggie" cologne as well as coat refresher spray. Maybve you can try that and see if it helps. |
Have you gone out with her to see what's causing the odor? |
Here are a few suggestions: 1. Try changing shampoos.... I use Chris Christenson products (Clean start is a great shampoo)... and don't forget to rinse WELL! There are many great products out there. Also there are colognes made for dogs, but be careful. Some of them are pretty strong. I don't use too much of the stuff as my dogs noses are sensitive and they sneeze. 2. My groomer will trim "pee pee" area, so the hair don't get saturated in that area. 3. Make sue that your little furball doesn't have urinary track issues causing her urine to be strong smelling. (If so, you may want to check with your vet for some help) 4. SOme dogs like to roll in dead bugs, worms, etc..... check your outside area! |
She smells fine in the house up until we have to let her out. I mean she can walk 10 feet out in the grass potty and come back in. She will smell just like that?? |
Yeah my Ollie smells also after being outside -- sometimes i think their hair just absorbs scents --you know like how their hair collects mulch and leaves and twigs.....BUT after awhile indoors it seems to fade. |
