Help please.... My puppy just went in for his 3rd series of his vaccinations. He has been home for about 4 hours and he is acting just fine (sleepy but the vet said he would be) but when he woke up and my husband picked him up he yelped and when I picked him up he cried too....could he just be really sore? He seems just a little swollen between the shoulder blades where they gave him his shot but he also squirmed a little when they gave him his shot...so I am wondering if they didn't get a muscle...I have had that happen with me before when you tense up. Should I give it a day and see if he feels better...? Other than that he is acting like himself. Poor guy also has a mild case of conjunctivitis...but I have eye drops that we started when we got home...any advise would be appreciated... |
I wouldn't be seriously concerned. He's probably sore from his shots. If he's still acting sore in a couple of days I'd ask the vet what he thinks, and like you said they might have gotten a muscle. |
Mine have always cried when I touch them after their shots. They are very sore, so it's best to be very gentle and let them get a lot of rest. |
TOTALLY normal, as sad as it is :( He will be better tomorrow.. BUT don't be alarmed if there is a lump where the vaccine went in that stays around for about a month.... it will get smaller... i was VERY upset the first time Layla got her shots and there was a lump there... tonight you can put a warm compress on her back... it will bring the blood up to the area and help her heal faster! |
