Looking for advice on best dog food.
 
Hello everyone,

This will be my first post.

My little yorkiepoo just came back from the Vet and was advised to switch to a tartar control kibble diet.

I'm looking for opinions on the absolute best product out there. If possible, something organic with all the best vitamins and mineral.

THere are many great foods out there. Here's a link to a great site. 5 Star premium is the best for yorkies I believe.

Great advice! Check out the website, and then let us know if you have any questions on your findings. We're happy to help! Also, if you're between going with a few brands, I'm sure the YT'ers can help you decide which one to choose.

I use blackwood, the only problem is that it's really hard to find, they sell it at one of the pet stores here in S.C. Actually when I had my yorkie(she will be 5 in Jan) to the vet the other day to have her tumor removed, they were really surprised at how clean her teeth were for never having them cleaned..I also give mine the new improved greenies to help

Canidae is a good food too..I used it for awhile, as I have 2 big dogs and 3 little ones..it is made for all stages of life, for puppies and dogs, they all eat out of the same bag..The only reason I went back to Blackwood, is Canidae if very expensive..The kind I buy now is also expensive, but, I spend about $10 less on a bag, and the bag is over 10 lbs bigger...You just want to make sure you get food you're happy with, and then stick with it if they're eating it good

http://www.flintriver.com this is excellent dog food.... they never have recalls...everything is real natural...the dry/water kind is good for small dogs and digests easily....

we homecook and will soon being going raw. however i know that Orijen is great. No grains, which is ideal.

I use solid gold its good along with canidaie, innova, artemis is rated high but mail order only, these are all 4 and 5 star foods.
