Sweaters-what kind of yarn? Hi, I am going to make my new furbaby a sweater/coat and wondered if there would be a better yarn to use one over another? I am looking at wool/silk blends, but would acrylic be just as good? I have the cutest crochet pattern for a little jeans and t-shirt looking sweater. :cold smil ~Melody |
im no help in this area but im bumping it up for you |
I'm no help either but I would like to see what the others say. My MIL knits and she'd think it was a "hoot" (her word) to make something for Sugar. Maybe I can request something for Sugar for X-mas. |
I knit for Lucy all the time. I like to use Superwash Merino (when I'm not making her sweaters out of scrap leftover cashmere-which I love doing). I like the softness and it is washable. Much softer than acrylic. Happy knitting - oops, crocheting! :) |
Thanks for the bump alex_143 and for the yarn suggestion KathyinCali. I saw merino on my search and wondered how soft it was. Off on a new search! ~Melody |

Aw I'm jealous. I wish I knew how to make sweaters |
Decided Well I decided on an alpaca/silk blend because it is so darn beautiful. I know it is not washable, but then, I never do anything the easy way...LOL! :p I will definitely post pics when I get Sweet Willie and have him in his new sweater...I can't wait! :aimeeyork :animal-pa :aimeeyork :animal-pa ~Melody |
