My new neighbor thought Kalina was...
 
...a CAT!! :eek: I was outside talking to another neighbor and holding Kalina. My new neighbor walked up to me and said "Oh my, what a cute little cat. It IS a cat isn't it?" Where did that come from? I can't see a Yorkie looking anything like a cat. The neighbor I was talking to had hysterics laughing to the point where it was almost rude to the new neighbor.

Did anyone ever mistake your Yorkie for a cat? She was once called a Bichon, but now a CAT??? :)

Nope, never a cat!!! Does the neighbor need glasses (or perhaps an encyclopedia??? with pictures)

well a cat is a step up from when they are called RATS!!
I think some people just aren't dog people and don't have a clue :p

never ! lol thats funny yesterday in tjmaxx i 3 year old called austin a cat but that you expect from a child even tho he looks nothing like a cat

Kalina is so so gorgeous. Some people really are not dog lovers. Kalina looks nothing like a cat:animal36

I had someone mistake my Shih Tzu for a cat. :rolleyes: But not my Yorkie.

Yup, little child got confused with little kitten and my yorkie in the past but not from adult!!

I've heard people call yorkies cats as if they aren't real dogs because they're small. But I've never heard of someone honestly thinking a yorkie was a cat up close...maybe far away, but not up close. A cat and a dog just look completely different no matter the breed, size, or color. What did the neighbor say when you told them she was a dog? I bet they felt stupid...

Several people have thought that Lily was a Guinea Pig. I was with her at petsmart one time when a guy walked past me and made a comment to his gf about the cute little dog. His gf looked over and said "Idiot, that's a guinea pig" and then rolled her eyes at how stupid he was.

She has also been mistaken for a gerbil and a kitten. I think some people need glasses :D

My grandson calls Maggie a rat !! lol he'll go "oooh Maggie, raaaaat" !! he'll only be 2 in November and she is kinda little. lol Plus they had pet rats up until not long ago and they were pretty big !! lol

coco was called a cat when she was 3months old i dont see the cat in her but ppl did...
