Question about Yorkiesitting.. Okay so I am planning next month to go on vacation (which I haven't done since I got Princess) and my ex says that he can watch her... He's the only one I trust that can really take care of her and give her all the attention she needs..She even gets more excited to see him than me.. But anyway I was wondering, I don't need him to sign any sort of contract right? I mean I know he's not gonna try and steal her or anything, but do you guys do that? Or is this unnecessary? Also I am not really happy about going on vacation.. haven't been apart from Princess for more than two days, and I'll be gone for two weeks... :( |
I know what you mean about leaving your Yorkie behind when you go away. I worry so much about my babies when I leave them behind that I don't enjoy vacation nearly as much as when they go along. As a result, we have only left them behind once when we went away and couldn't take them. I've never had anyone sign a contract when they dog sit, so I can't give you any advice. I guess it depends on how much you trust your dog sitter, but if something goes wrong, what would you do about it when you got back, with or without a contract??? I understand the problem. At least your ex knows and likes your dog, and vice versa, so you just have to take the gamble of leaving her behind. |

Well I just talked to him about this and I said if anything happens to her.. he is responsible.. like if she broke her leg or something he would have to pay and stuff and he agreed (this is an unlikely scenario..but just to be sure).. |
anyone  |
Every time I dog sat I didn't sign a contract, but they were all somewhat related to me. As long as its agreed that something happens to her that wasn't pre-existing before, he will pay the expenses. |
I have used professional dog sitters that come to my house and stay over night. I did sign a contract with them but any vet visits were paid by me as the dogs belong to me. |
As long as you trust him I don't think you need a contract. |
Okay thanks everyone! Guess a contract isnt necessary |
I would say no go on the contract. IMHO, if I were watching someone's (and someone I knew.. other than a business-relationship) dog (for free, especially) I'd be appealed if they asked me to sign a contract. |
