Help Sky was spayed and is now mean! So Sky was tough when I first got her...she chewed everything, barked, cried, wouldnt sit still. Then within the past few months she lost her baby teeth and started being a real love! UNTIL...she got spayed. Now she sits on me and cries. She tries to bite. She barks...and today my roomie said she barked all day!!! oh and she shreds EVERYTHING. She started going in my trash, pulling down toilet paper. She cries to get off and on the bed NON STOP I dont know what to do! Is this normal? I want my sweet Skylar Pie back! Obviously I will love her NO MATTER what. but im just so sad:thumbdown |
She is so cute! I am sorry you are having problems with her, how old is she? I ask because puppies go through an adolescent phase where they really test your limits! She might be going through that and it could have nothing to do with being spayed. Now is the time to be kind but firm with her and I'm sure she will come around. |
She is only a puppy. 7 months. But she finally calmed down. :( |
She is prob testing you. She wants all the attention on her and wants to see what she will get away with. She is just a high maintenance pooch right now. Be stern as hard as it is. |
Yep, she is starting her adolescent period! It seems that right after their terrible twos they are great for a month of two and then go right into adolesence! Here is an article about puppy adolesence: http://www.peninsulahumanesociety.or.../article5.html My favorite part of the article: "most dogs exhibit at least some of these common adolescent traits: selective hearing; refusal to do previously learned commands; reversion to puppy behaviors such as mouthiness, destructive chewing, jumping and barking; lapses in housebreaking and just about anything else to drive their guardian insane. The good news is that this period in a dog's life doesn't last long; the bad news is that it isn't short enough." The article gives several helpful ideas to survive this time in your puppy's life. Good luck!:D P.S. my baby just turned 7 months and now has "forgotten" every command I taught her! |
Thanks! Kiwiglaze! It's like they wrote that article on Skylar! Nutty pooch! |
