Baxter update - if anyone cares lol I don't believe I've posted in a while - I was dealing with the issue on whether to have Baxter groomed or do it myself - After long thought- I tried it myself - I'll have to get some pictures - but I think he came out pretty good. My only issues are his nails and ear hairs - I have to take him I think to have that done. Can't seem to bring myself to do it. Does anyone pull the hair out of their Furbabies ears?????????????????? - Does it hurt them???? Is there an easy way to do this. Baxter has now learned how to get on and off my bed - which is just adorable - as is he lol. I'm amazed daily on just how much I love this animal. Oh well - guess I should end this - I can go on and on and on - On just how darn cute that dog is - just as you all can about yours - So I'll stop now. |
I can't wait to see some pictures! I don't groom Bella myself, so I don't have any good advice, but I'm sure some members will give some awesome advice!! Don't forget to post pics when you have a chance! I love seeing adorable Yorkies! :p |
I have dvd that shows how to do the ears. The groomer's uses an ear powder they sprinkle in the ear so it makes it easier to grap the hair and pull it out. Turn the ear back so you can look into it and sprinkle the powder in. It stated on the dvd that is does not hurt them (?). I looked for it in the pet store, they have it but I have yet to use it. Buddy has very little hair in his ears. I am deadly afraid to cut his nails. I have not tried it yet! THey were cut in May by the vet and so far look fine. He walks 4x daily on cement or black top and I know that helps keep them trim. Hope this helps you. |
I pluck the hair out of my two's ears with no problem. I haven't tried that ear powder, I just use a good pair of tweezers and pull out a few hairs at a time. My two are real babies so I know they would put up a fuss if it hurt but they sit still for me and after I'm done they shake their heads once or twice and that's it:) |
