What do you store dog food in? What do you store dog food in? I need to get something new. I only buy 5 or 6 lbs at a time, so I need something smaller. |
Hi I usually store my raw food in a plastic lock container labled of course--LOL And then in our pantry a have a larger plastic bin that also locks. The raw I have frozen stays in its bag in the freezer.:animal36 |
I use the plastic bins you can get at Walmart. |
I have a plastic container that has a really nice top on it. i got it at Petsmart, I only buy 4 lb bags and it holds our food, and it doens't take up that much space. |
I use decorative tins, they are ant proof and look good too. |
I LOVE the Lock-n-Lock containers that you can get on QVC and they come in a zillion sizes. Just to give you an idea on how long they keep things fresh....I roasted some pumpkin seeds last year and put them into one of the Lock-n-Locks and I just used the last of them up about a few weeks ago and they were as crisp and fresh as the day I put them in it. |
1 Attachment(s) I use the Rubbermaid cereal containers. I fill it about half full, then freeze the rest of the kibble to keep it fresh. |

I saw some at Target the other day.. I'll have to see if they have the larger ones. Thanks for the suggestions everyone! |

I keep the homemade food in plastic tupperware or baggies in the fridge or freezer, and the kibble in airtight metal cans. |
1 Attachment(s) We keep food in this container in the laundry room...Feeding 2 yorkies and a Rottweiler:D The extra we keep in an air tight container in the garage til needed.... We feed Canidae and buy it by the 40 lb bag... |
The plastic pet food storage container from Target, they come in I think four different sizes. Not that expensive either compared to food storage containers from pet suppliers. |
I use a round plastic container from Wal-Mart. Its lid has two locking handles. It holds half of my 35-40 pound bag of food. (I have 2 containers for adult food and 2 for puppy food) I go through a whole bag in just over a week. The Anatolian eats as much as all of the little dogs put together. My freezer is full of dog food, as I buy it in bulk (12 bags at a time) |
Cody's bag of food has a reaseable closure!! |
I use the Food Saver for all Toto's food ... dry kibble and fresh that's kept in the freezer. I just measure it up in bags ... about a week's worth per bag ... the Food Saver removes all air and it stays fresh. It's also really handy for travelling! ;) |
I use a plastic pretzel container. It is shaped like a barrel and it is clear with a flip top lid. It holds my 5-6 lb bag of food perfect. I got it at Wal-Mart and it was very inexpensive. I keep it in my pantry and I keep a mug in there to dip out the food. Just flip up the lid and scoop it up and then just push the lid back down. The whole lip also screws on and then the flip top has hindges on one side so it is always attached. I love it and it is perfect for us and anyone that buys the smaller bags of food. I will post a pic if I get time. |
I just keep it in the bag in another bag and close that. I did see this Dog food container at Han Nari though, it was so cute and it said something on it. I am going to get that, cause i have a lot of food, i buy the big bags. |
I use one of the square tupperware storage containers. It holds a 3 lb bag of food perfectly. |
I use a plastic air tight container that has 2 covers on it specially made for pet foods, it holds a nice 6# bag of dry kibbles nicely. |
