Lost tooth? Last night, my mom's yorkie Mazie, who will be 7 on the 24th of this month, lost a tooth. We noticed she was bleeding from her mouth and had a loose tooth and she eventually lost it. My question is, is it normal for dogs of this age to be losing teeth? (I don't remember our other yorkie Moochie, who lived to be 16 losing teeth) My mom did brush her dogs teeth on Saturday but she said her gums didn't bleed then or anything. Any advice/information on this is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, |
Ellie was five in January when she lost a tooth. A couple other teeth around the hole were loose. She had to have oral surgery where about nine more were pulled. If this dog didn't break the tooth on something (which very well could've happened), it is probably peridontal disease and can lead to very serious health problems if it isn't treated. |
Wow that is scary, I'm not sure if she broke it on something or not. I'll have to ask my mom is she still has the tooth, because i'm sure we would be able to tell if it had chipped or something. My mom is taking her into the vet about this, hopefully this week, she is calling the vet this afternoon. I hope that she just broke it on something and doesn't have any type of dental disease. She has very white teeth and doesn't have bad breath which I thought were signs of dental disease... Thanks for answering I really appreciate it! I hope your little girl is doing well :) |
I hope it's not a big deal, and your baby will be just fine. |
