Does any one know a good homemade diet for him he needs low protine please any thing |
the liver shunt group knows about these things...I would get on there and tell them about it. I'm so sorry that Max's liver is in such bad shape... Remember that the denosyl has to be given on an empty stomach(preferably the morning) at least 1 hour before feeding... Also, I read somewhere that the main protein ingredients for the Medical Low Protein food are salmon and chicken...Both of those foods are very high in purines and are not recommended for liver compromised dogs. If I were you, I would seriously consider having the vet switch him to Royal Canin Hepatic Formula...It's specifically for dogs with liver disease. |
http://www.royalcanin.us/vetdiet/caninehepatic.html This is the link to the food Yorkieluv is suggesting. You should talk to your vet about it. |
So sorry about your little guy! I will keep him in my prayers! |
I will keep you and Max in my prayers. My heart is so sore for you. Lots of hugs. |
I am so sorry about little Max. I will keep him in my prayers and hopefully he can prove the vet wrong. |
Oh no, Iam so sorry, max you are in my prayers:hands: hugs to you both |
Yes, there is an excellent recipe in the Files section of the liver group that I use for Miko, but instead of 1lb of cod (way too much protein), I use a certain amount of eggs. |
