A lady asked me if he is a silky terrier |
The picture is so small that it's hard to tell. Do you have a bigger picture of him? |
1 Attachment(s) Is it working? ugh I hate this system. |
This one is PERFECT- CHECK HIM OUT 1 Attachment(s) |
The third one is good. He looks like my Buddy. He blends in perfectly with all the leaves. That's a pretty picture. I would say he's a silky Yorkshire Terrior. |

I paid $1500 for him. Are they more expensive than regular yorkies? |

I think he's a full Yorkie. A silky has a different looking face and they are longer and studier built than the Yorkie. Do his paper's state Yorkie? I don't think the silky's are higher priced. I paid 1,400 for Buddy and thought he was a silky at first because of his size. His paper's state Yorkie. As he grew it's easy to see he's all Yorkie but a bigger one. I think you new pet is all YORKIE> |

I don't get his papers until he gets neutered. Breeder's policy.... He is very long actually, he also has a long muzzel (sp?) |
Your baby looks 100% adorable yorkie. A lot of people on YT have been asked if their yorkie was a silky even though their dogs look like a yorkie. I think some people just don't know any better. Don't worry about yours- he's all yorkie!:) |

He is 100% yorkie.Let his hair grow out and he will look even more yorkie. |
Looks all Yorkie to me. You'll find out for sure when you get your papers. |

How much does he weigh? They are all so different. |
Your dog looks like a yorkie to me. It is hard for me to describe; maybe someone better acquainted with Silkies and the standard can, but my way of describing them is: Silkies are proportionally longer than they are tall. Your yorkie looks like he has pretty long legs. The silkies have more promininet snouts, and while some yorkies' snouts are longer than others, the silkies' snouts aren't just longer, but more large all around--if that makes sense. Their bodies are also more stocky/sturdy around while the yorkies are more slight. (That is my "layman's" definition of them) here's the akc page for silkies: http://www.akc.org/breeds/silky_terrier/index.cfm and the one for yorkies: http://www.akc.org/breeds/yorkshire_terrier/index.cfm hope this helps :) |
Looks all yorkie to me, and a cute one at that. So many people don't know the difference between silkys and yorkies.:) |
Looks like a yorkie to me ! I am asked that sometimes as my my boy is a big boy !:D |

Yorkie.:p |
pup The Australians bred their Aussies terrier with Yorkies to produce the breed of Silky Terrier..so there is Yorkie genes in a purebred Silky, but there is NO Silky genes in a purebred Yorkie..the English did not reverse the breed process and use Silkies with any of their terriers to develop a breed...certainly not the Yorkie. |

I meant to mention that he has very little hair on his legs and the part aroudn his nose and mouth is pretty dark...darker than the rest of his face. I've never seen any yorkies with that darker look around their muzzel... |
