Is it masculin? Hi everyone, I kind of new on this forum... I love all the talks :D, specially the pictures etc., I have to ask this... we got Logan 3 weeks ago, a lovely little one :) he is 14 weeks now, I find that his hair is getting into his eyes and my husband thinks that it is not masculine to put a barrette to old them up! I thought that a black barrette with cross bones would do the tricks!!! do you have any suggestion for an alternative he wants me to cut his hair around his eyes but I am hesitating, I found it so cute on a female dog the barrette but for a male I am not convinced! Does any one have pictures of male dog with masculine barrettes!!!:D thanks a million |
My little one, Marcel, wears an extremely, very, very masculine.....hair clip. Well at least it's brown! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96704 |
I think they're a lot of masculine bows out there for boys. I'm sure a lot of the sellers will post pictures for you. |
Masculine and feminine hair clips? Pick one you like.. who cares if it's "masculine" or "feminine." :) |
I felt the same as you....see avatar. And Husband didnt want bows, so I tried clear elastics. Anyway , I ended up having the grommer groom his face a bit and I am very pleased. I thought I wouldnt ever get passed not having bows...and I still could...husband is not boss of dog. BUt iam so pleased with his cute face trim. I am not telling you to do it...jsut telling you my story. HMMM when he is older and has that adult hair made for and elastic, I may do it then....but not now while he still has his puppy hair. He is 5 mos now. |
:welcome4: Glad you found a place here at YT!! Both my male & female have long hair - everywhere & Bubba wears his hair pulled back everyday - or else he wouldn't be able to see because his hair just hangs in his face! Roxie's can be out and just divides down her face with no problem. I use tiny clear plastic bands that were left over from my daughter's days of braces. These work so well, that I'm hoping when they run out the orthodontist office would be willing to sell me some small packages. Maybe you can find a dentist or orthodontist to give/or sell you some. Otherwise look for tiny bands in the baby departments or cosmetic sections - I know there are black ones out there - not as small as those for braces - but do-able. Also those little clips work well. Tell you husband its a cute yorkie look and plenty of men have pony tails :D - I don't know any, but I've certainly seen them! |
sorry I have 2 boys and they did not keep in top knots at all so I have the groomer cut eyebrows! I want to try again but they are 2 now and I still don't think they will keep them in. I like the eyebrows though! But I love the top knot! :) |

Back to the matter at hand I think the top not all around no matter what you use to hold it in place is something you have to get used to with boys and get over it . When i first got ryoko everyone thought he was a girl. Now i have kaze everyone things ryo is the boy and Kaze is the girl. So its kinda a no win situation with what other people think. Just do whats good to you. try the barrettes or whatever for a while and see if hubby gets used to it.. you never know. |
Masculine?? LMAO When me and Rocky go for walks in the park, He packs a .50 caliber Desert eagle in his holster, and I walk around with a 9mm Glock. LOL I think thats pretty masculine. |

Thanks everybody.... I will save some elastics from my daughter ortho.... your little Marcel is very cute!!! maybe I will find a camouflage bow... I'll keep my eyes open now!!! for now he is still a puppy :aimeeyork. It is true that Quebec (Montreal) is a wonderful place to visit :teeth: :D |
There is a web site called lawdogbows; they have a large selection for our boys with footballs, team colors, and the like. they are very good, and delivery is good too. I use their bows on Sawyer all the time. Good Luck;) |
hehehe husbands have the most great ideas sometimes :D I bought a blue ribbon for my yorkie boy and my hubby wouldn't even buy that. Anyways since its hard to tie my yorkie boy's hair coz he hates it, I gave in and got the groomers to cut them off :p |
2 Attachment(s) Here is Chewy with a masculine bow (and messy hair!). Most of the time he wears an elastic.:) |
