Yorkie's hair in top knot My puppy isn't old enough to have enough hair to pull up but I really want to try that when he gets older. How do you do it and what do you use? I wouldn't think you would use a rubber band. I know y'all probably think this is a silly question but I've never known anyone with a yorkie that pulled their hair up. |

I always use a little rubber band to pull Lacy's hair up first. I usually use the tiny orthodontist bands. Then after I have her hair in a topknot, I'll put her bow in. I use bows with both rubber bands and barrettes. |
Where can you find those? Can you get them from Wal-Mart? |

I might add when ever you use spray hold the ears down and cover the eyes. Yes, it's better to have someone else to help you or use gel but just a little or it will get sticky. Gina, that is a great website. I cut Crystals top knot for the first time this summer but I think I will let it grow back for the winter. I do mine alittle differently but it all comes out looking the same and the website is most likely the correct way. I use three bands. Check out by signature and others have it too. |
1 Attachment(s) I'd suggest you get good quality grooming bands instead of the cheap ones you find at Walmart. It will really cut down on breakage. It also helps to have pair of band removal scissors to cut the bands out. If you try to unwrap them, you'll break more hair. Another thing I saw on another grooming video is be sure after you put in the top knot that you can't see the whites of their eyes :eek: ...if you can then your top knot is too tight and needs to be loosened till you can't see the whites anymore....:) |
1 Attachment(s) At Claire's boutique stores (in most malls...they sell girls' accessories) they have a baby section that sells little colored hair-bands for baby's hair and baby barrettes also. I like to use these for Lola's hair. And they are super cheap! |
