Chewy's Rabies Shot
 
I just got back from the vet, chewy got his last shot today. Poor guy was so scared, he cried and was so nervous that he peed on the vet nurse! I felt so bad. He's kind of down and is now sleeping on my lap as I type. The good news though is that since I've had Chewy (since Mother's Day in May) he's gained 1lb, 1oz. so now he is a whopping 2lbs, 7oz.!!!

I am so glad for you! Congrats Chewy on your last shot and your weight gain! LOL! Good luck with little Chewy! I think it is so cool that you got Chewy on Mother's day! That is so awesome! Sounds like the best gift ever!

I feel bad that Chewy was so scared! I hope he is doing better now!

aww bentley got his yesterday! he cried too!!! poor guy and he's only gained a pound since we got him in april!

awwwww sorry to hear about Chewy and omgsh hes tiny hes about the size/weight when i first got Chicle which was May 3rd. i miss having him that small :-\

Thanks all, and yes, Chewy is the best present I've ever gotten! He is such a faker though because he just got up from his nap and is now running around like a mad man and trying to nip at my son's heels!!!
BTW, Judy: I told Dr. Parr about you and she said she would look out for you and she was very gentle with Chewy today ;)

Maximus just got his rabies last week and it was tough on him...he usually starts to cry as soon as they squirt the alcohol..but this time nothing ..not even with the shot..BUT...I was fooled because it hit him the hardest..he didn't want to eat and just slept..so I gave him the nutrical and by the next night he was back to himself...

Anyone have any advice for me? Coco is getting her last set of shots on the 7th and her rabies a week later. Should I be looking out for anything?? She doesn't even flinch with the shots, it's the after effect I'm worried about.

Maximus always did alright with his shots slighlty lethargic..but the Rabies he was VERY tired slept almost 15-20 hours out of the day I would say and was very very clingy (had to be sleeping on my lap, bed wherever I was ) or when I went out he slept on my blanket) and he didn't want to eat..I caleld the vet and he told me this was normal give him nutrical and watch..so I did..I even took him to work with me so I could watch even more...still didn't eat (not even treats or people food)...Maximus is a porker if I didn't mention before and THIS WAS ODD..but finally he came around and is okay now..so I guess just watch for that...how old is coco now?..Maximus is about 19 weeks and 4.5 lbs

Chewy gets sooooo freaked out about the shots, the needle is not even close to him and he is squealing! After, though, he is fine. He sleeps the rest of the day and doesn't really eat a lot. The next day he is fine. They say if there will be any reactions it will be within 24 hours. I think when you get home, sit in front of the tv, put her on your lap and both of you relax!

LOL..sounds about right..or in front of YT..he-he..Maximus is a squealer too..they are like" we only put the alcohol on..no shot yet"..lol..that's why I was shocked with the Rabies and imagine the worst of all that he got..who knew

Coco is about 17 weeks and barely hitting the 2lbs mark...haha..I scheduled her rabies for friday so I can keep an eye on her the rest of the weekend.

Polly got her second round of shots today. She did great, came home and terrorized Maddie and Rudy, but now it must have got to her, she is in her bed and sleeping. I was going to call the vet, but after reading your post, her reaction is normal. Will watch her closely. Glad to hear all your furbabies are doing good.

Today was Cooper's last shots too, including his rabies. He was NOT happy at all but has been running around playing since we got back home.

At 17 weeks, he is a big ol' 1.6#. His weight has not changed since 5/31 (at least) but his appetite is more than healthy and his activity level is on overdrive!

Congrats on completing your series of shots too!

Yeah Cooper, Wow he sure is tiny. Chewy was that exact weight when I got him on may 3rd at 11 weeks. I can barely remember how tiny he was even now I can't believe he was any smaller than 2#7oz. Now that shots are done, it's so funny to see these little critters trotting along with their harnesses on like they own the place!!!
