if a yorkie carries the Parti gene?

I am not breeding or anything like that (Frankie is fixed).
I was just wondering if there was a way to tell if they carry it or not.
Frankie has some white under his chin, his chest, and his back legs.
He also has one clear nail on his back leg. lol
Doest matter to me at all, I was just wondering if there was a way to tell?

Sound likes he has a piebald gene, but I'm just learning about this myself.

That is a sign that he may be, but i think if he is fixed the only possible way for you to find out is by asking the breeder and DNA testing.

Well tests aren't needed lol, like I said I am not breeding him or anything like that. I have been reading about them on here, so I just wanted to see if there was a "sign" or not lol

I dont think it means or does anything for your pup. it just means if he was to bred then one or some of his pups might be parti.

It means if you have two parti yorkie's and you breed them you might have a chance of having white yorkies. Some only carry the gene and they show a white spot like on there chest or they have clear toenails. This is not the breed standard, but it is really different to see. Expecially if you are not expecting it. If you use the search button on here and look up brewiers and parti I am sure that you will see pictures of some that were just born lately. It was a real shock to them because they had no idea. I just learned about this myself so I may be off a little on what I told you. But this is how I understand it. Good luck.

This is what a parti yorkie looks like. That is if both parents have the gene. They are white!!! I hope that this helps. Just use the search bar and you will find some suprising ones on here. Good Luck.

Awww, those are Loretta's fur babies (Noel and Cherub)....they are so pretty! If you take a look at my avatar you will see my parti girl,Livi. :)
