Neutering: Should I should I not? Shadow is getting neutered in about 3 wks however my husband seems very concern about it. He think Shadow is going to slow down and not be himself after the operation. What do you guys think? Are you against spaying/neutering? Thanks. |
my stepdad feels the same way! i do too in a way! we are still debating! |
At what age can they be spaying/neutered? I am getting a new pup and I am thinking about this. |

6 months is usually the age they get neutered. I don't think you will see a big change if you get him neutered, and besides healthwise it's a good thing to do. |
Ollie was nuetered last Monday. I cried when i left him at the vets that morning but he was back to his complete normal self by wednesday!!!! It did not change his personaltiy or spunk at all. I read that an unnuetered male can smell a female in heat up to 2 miles away and it will drive them crazy. I was worried he would try to run off. If you have no plans on breeding him i feel it is a kind thing to do for him. jmo -good luck |

i just got Nico neutered on friday and it seemed like he was in quite some pain. thats only because he is a wimp. our other yorkie Bruin got neutered last year and he was perfectly fine when he came home. so i guess it depends on the yorkies attitude. from my xp, neurtering seems harmless. |
Well I had Max neutered last month short after he turned 6 months. He did not change a bit. They told us that he should not be jumping or running because of the incision but that didn't happen. From the first day we got him from the clinic he was jumping and running. I had the option of getting pain medicine for him which I did but then realized that I didn't need any he was not in any pain what so ever!;) The next day after the surgery he was being himself and by the end of the week we were at the dog park and he was being himself. I know its risky but the benefits are greater. My husband too was like no what about his manhood!!! But it's much better to have him neutered.:animal-pa |
My yorkie is a girl, but my boy pug is soooo hyper not the pug steroetype at all, since he's a very healthy and active dog. He was neutered at 5 months and he slept most of the day that it happened and was back to his normal self the next day. He's still the same way at 1 and a half. It didnt change him at all. Hope this helps :) |
see cats must be different then because they get lazy and and change! |
