Help with the stains in my carpet I cant get the urine stains out of my carpet  . I need help quick my husband is throwing a fit. It seems like I have tried everything and nothing will get the stains out. And if anyone has a secret to completly housbreaking a Yorkie let me know ;) . |
I like to use Nature's Miracle Stain & Odor Clean-up to clean up stains. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...01+113510+1031 You can probably find it at your local petstore |
I don't have a problem with urine stains on my carpet because as soon as I see a pee spot, I soak it up with a paper towel and then spray Nature's Miracle Stain and Odor Remover on it. It has natural enzymes that tackle tough stains and odors and remove them permanently, with no "cover-up" perfume odors. It's safe for use around children and pets. I bought it at Petsmart but I've seen it all Petco too. It may work on old urine stains too. |
Poor thing -It really depends on what kind of carpet you have ...some carpets you are just NOT going to get out these kind of stains. I scotchguard all mine but decided with 3 dogs to go with TILE.... I only have carpet in rooms I can block off ... Stains are really hard to get out - Try Natures Miracle at Petco or PEtsmart ? It really helps with the smell...I found a stain on new carpet in a spare room and it completely took out the oder AND the stain. You have to SATURATE the stain. Tell your hubby it's the price we pay sometimes and carpet can be replaced. Vinegar and Water and letting it soak may help also... There is a product some members have used but I can't remember it - but I'm sure someone will post about it. |
I picked up some Folex Instant carpet spot remover from Walmart last week and I think it really seems to be working. I spray it on the spot , brush it and then dab with a damp cloth. Hopefully they won't reappear.?! On the training...consistancy and patience. :) Good luck! |
What kind of potty training techniques are you using? I crate trained Coco and now she's almost all the way there. Be consistent with potty. Take your baby to the puppy pad every 30-40 min. so he/she gets the idea and be consistent. From the beginning I would take Coco to my bathroom, where I would close the door. I would sit there and wait for her to go. That way she got the idea that if she goes potty there, we get to go out and have fun after wards..it worked for me. and in the bathroom she couldn't escape so she did her business. No distractions. |
I just saw that 3 of use said Natures Miracle at the same time -didnt see those posts but that's a good sign - means it works ! |
I've tried several, the two I like the most are Natures Miracle and Oreck Pet and Odor Cleaner. I also invested in the Oreck Carpet Cleaner, which works very well for several things, carpet, tile and cleaning grout. It's pricey at $600. After over a year without any strong smells and now that the dogs are housebroken, I still could tell that my den had an odor when it was humid outside. So, I replaced he den carpet with Metrofloor a laminate flooring new on the market that looks so much like wood everyone who comes into my den thinks I've put hardwood down. I love it, it isn't cold like tile, it doesn't adhere to a cork or particle board, where fluid can seep into the flooring and does not have the upkeep of hardwood. I simply mop it. Of course, now the only accident has been my two year granddaughter but it works like a charm. I'm thinking of replacing all my carpet with it I like it so much. |
wow thanks everyone. Natures Miracle seems like its a product that works. I am gonna pack up the kids and head to the store. red98vett- I sure hope these stains come out. I know I had Stanley Steemer came out and cleaned my carpets and the stains came out then. And I told myself I will not let another stain on my carpet again and now I have three of them that I cant get out. As far as my husband goes I wish it was that easy :D. vainchick5- Amber is pretty well housbroken for the most part it is just once in a while she will have an accident. I cant really blame her the stains are by the front door. It just gets fursturating. |
I know how you feel. You might want to put the panties on her when you have to leave and it may be for longer than she can "hold it" just to be safe. You just put a pad in the panty and if saves the mess. |
Ok...what about investing in a little hand held steamer or one of the new steam cleaners and you can spot clean - there is a hand held one that I can't remember the name of - The Green Machine I think ? it would be perfect for you if its only a few here and there... Also - if you use a professional service.... they use SOAP - soap leaves a residue and will make stains set worse over time as it adheres to the carpet - Natural vinegar is what all the high end carpet people use and recommend - Stanley Steamer is great - but you end up calling them more and more cause carpets get much dirtier after the clean them only due to residue left from their cleaning products. I'll stop here - can you tell I'm kind of in the business here ? :D |

I use oxy to get the stains out. I put it in a bucket and make sure the water is hot enough to desolve the powder and I use a scrub brush then I use my steam cleaner and if comes right up! |
