Is it any harder to have 2 than 3 I would like to get another one. 2 is really no proublem would 3 be any harder and the 2 are g rown how do you think they would do with baby yorkie? Benji my oldest now dont like other dogs to come here but if we go to someome home he ok. |
It's not harder it's just a matter of your dogs getting jealous. You have to give them extra loving if you bring a new pup in, so they don't feel left out. It will take them time to having a new one around. |
Thanks My husband said if we do get another dog he wants a big dog. He wants a dobeerman. I want another yorkie. He does not know if he will hav time to walk a dobe like he needs to . I worry about a big dog with my yorkies. This still up in the air. He said last night maybe we should just have 2 only. I do want another even if it is a dobe |
I can barely handle two! I wont be having 3 for a very very long time! Skoshi and Kiele are little beasts lol! |
I have 3 and its fun!!!! But I thought you already had 3? And you got rid of one because he was too big. |
I have 3 and the main problem is trying to walk 3 at a time by myself. I can't seem to do it. |
That was the biggest mistake i made. I should have waited it out. Every time the big guy would go by the tiny one he would yelp now I know mostly from fear. I know that becauses sometimes he does that now if he thinks you might step on him and you havent even touched him.Well every time he yelp benji would gang up on zip the tiny one then both would be cornering him and I got scared for him. Then he started to lift his leg and pee on my walls why I dont know. He would come in from out side and do it. any ways I wish I kept him I know LOT MORE NOW. |
I have 3 dogs, 2 full size collies and 1 yorkie. We have had Ollie (the oldest collie) for 8 years and rescued Jimmy 3 years ago. We introduced the collies to each other at a nearby park so that Ollie didn't try to protect his territory.....this worked very well, no fights, no problems. When I got Fergie last year we did the same thing, introduced them away from the house. Fergie gets along with the big dogs VERY well, they play so well together. I think Fergie thinks she is a collie. The lady that I "adopted" Fergie from was very relunctant to let me have her, she was scared the big collie's would hurt her. I am so glad I was able to convince her to let me have Fergie, she has completed my pet family! |
2 or 3 doesn't seem like nothing when you have 9 LOL. |
I have 3 (not all Yorkies) they wear me out but I love'em and cant wait to get another Yorkie -- at some point. |
So do you think a doberman will be ok with my 2 yorkies. |

I would just watch them together if you have a very small yorkie. Just make sure they are all well socialized and are not aggressive. Donna Bird |
Im single, live alone and have 2 boys. I would LOVE a girl, but my goodness I couldn't possibly pet all those heads myself! My boys require constant attention from me and usually one hand is petting one head and the other hand petting the other head! hehe So I think Im going to have to hold off on getting another baby! But if you can handle that go for it!!! If I had someone else and they didnt care, Id have a girl too!! :) :) |
Brooklynn how would i know if this new pup will be socialized and not agressive. The breeder think he will be fine and said to make sure you lay down the rules for all of them. She is on a farm and raises them. She seems good and honest. When you see the pup he going to be quiet and not himself when you first bring him hom. Now my oldest is Benji he does not do well when we bring a dog in our home butif we go to someone eles home he was fine. Lately we have had other family memeber bring their dog over and only one dog my daughter did he bite. benji a 5 pd bit a boxer full grown. the boxer was fine and didnt do anything but my daughter wont bring him over any more. now my brother came over had a really big dog and no proublem so I dont know |
I don't mean to sound harsh, but I think bringing in a 3rd dog into your situation might not be the best idea. Poor Benji, thats his home and he does not like other dogs there. I think you'll have a hard time with him if you do get a 3rd dog. Im afriad that if Benji does not take to the Dobie puppy that you'll have to rehome him and that will hurt you for sure, and that poor pup. Just think about it..... do you think your current circumstances allow for a 3rd dog? Good Luck with your decision though... you are like me! I want to bring home every animal I see haha :) :) |
I was thinking the same thing but when i came home with zip he felt that way and now they love each other. they even sleep together and I love it when they play. Benji didnt like it at first tho and every once in a while if he get jeslious he will dog him but never hurt him. A big decission |
