Need a Groomer in NYC Hi everyone! It's about time for Baz to get his first haircut, but im nervous about getting someone who is too rough, or cant handle squirmy little dogs. I would love to hear some good places in Manhattan, so i can feel better about not going in blind to someone i dont know and trusting them with my pup. thanks so much! :) ~chelsea |
Chelsea: I've never gotten Chewy groomed but I have been refered to 2 places: 1. Doggie Style(s) on Thompson Street prices between $55 - 75 2. Doggie Dearest on 5th btwn A&B $55 212-254-3204. I walked in here the other day and she was grooming a spaniel. She was very gentle and nice and since I'm in the neighborhood, I'll probably go there. These prices are also fairly reasonable. Good Luck. |
Ifinally found a place I liked after my disasters..but it is in Staten Island..called Kristina's Pet Styles..she was really good with Maximus and you can stay and look throught the glass or leave..I STAYED...lol..and it was only about an hour there ..cost me $40.00 plus tip |
I have a mobile groomer, based out of Staten Island (We live in Brooklyn, so she comes to us) I am not sure if she comes to Manhattan...But if you want her info let me know...She charges me 50 to do Sammi... |

thats sounds like a great ideaaaaaaaaa :) what do u say fran??? |
Yeah, Helene (our groomer) comes to the house at 9am parks her grooming truck and does Sammi and Kasey...They are both done by 12/12:30pm :) I know she has several grooming trucks, so she might come into Manhattan...I am not 100% sure |
3 Attachment(s) I brought Honey to Doggie Do on 3rd & 37th recently and they did a GREAT job on him. The number there is 212-661-9111. I had previously taken him to NY Dog Spa and Honey came back with a bad haircut and traumatized. I definetly wouldn't recommend them. Here's a picture of Honey after his Doggie Do cut. Also, I would recommend bringing in pictures of what you want. |
Amy: He's cute with his cut! I was in the dogpark the other day around 4PM and we just sat there with Chewy in my lap. A 20lb dacshaund just stood there barking at him. My son just looked at me and said "Let's get out of here!!!" I think I am going to start going in the mornings at around 9:30 AM. Are you around at that time? Let me know. |
Amy, thanks for the tip ;) ur baby looks so cute. how much? and what exactly was done to him? |
Hi Chewys Mom - I've only been to the dogrun a couple of time but each time was fine with no agressive dogs. I would imagine that it would be pretty empty at 9:30am but you never really no. Last time I was there was a nice Saturday afternoon and it there were only a couple of little dogs but then after a while more showed up. I work all day so the only time I can get there that early is on the weekend and I usually like to sleep in. :animal-sm :aimeeyork :dog: LuvMyBaby - The grooming was $80 and I asked for a full puppy cut with a round face but I also brought some pictures to be sure they understood what I wanted :) |
DoggyStyle in SoHo is very good. They're at 100 Thompson Street, next door to the DoggyStyle boutique. |
