Whats Wrong With The World ?!? Yesterday my husband and I took our daughter to ride her bike at the park. I first want to add that it is quite sad that we have to drive blocks away to a park, just so Meka is able to come with us. With so many dog theft stories, we cant even walk around our own neighborhood for fear someone will follow us home or something :( Anyhow, we were enjoying a lovely walk when we came across a couple fishing and they had a lil' chihauhau. The lady brought her dog near us and started to compliment on how cute Meka is... Then outta nowhere, she asks "SO, HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY FOR HER" !?! Then she says "WHAT, about $600, $700"!?! :mad: I brushed her off by saying she was a gift from my husband and changed the topic... But I've had it up to here with rude people and that question! I get all the time!!! It never fails!!! :eek: Is is just lack of manners or what... which has led to my question today "whats wrong with the world"? :confused: |
I've met quite a few rude people since I got Kalina. I could tell a lot of stories. Fortunately there are 10 great people for every negative one. I try to ignore the negatives and focus on the positives. It's not always easy though. |
Seriously? That's worst thing someone has said to you? I want your life. :) I have been asked that question many times before as well. I figure that they are just curious as they would like one for themselves. |
I see numerous post on the subject of strangers coming up a yorkie owner and making statement about: weight, color, size, cost, etc. and then the owner getting so upset that at times it borders on being absolutely furious.... I have never felt this much emotion over an off comment...as soon as I leave the situation it's forgotten about and I'm off doing my business.. You seem to have handled the nosy question perfectly fine w/o giving away your person business, and good for you.:thumbup: ...now just chalk the comments up to "they just didn't know any better and/or they left their manners at home" and enjoy your outing ;) .. |
I also think they probably would like to find one and if maybe you didnt pay alot for yours they could find out where you got yours and get one too. I dont think it was being rude, just curious since they are so expensive. I think most people cant fathom spending so much on a dog. I know before I got my first yorkie, I thought 400.00 was just crazy when I paid that for my boxer. |
Thats really rude.. There was a women who was at a family party and she had a yorkie so I asked her if she got it from a breeder she said yes and then I asked what breeder and she said "It was a gift" Like it was obvious and really rudly to.. AND she called her an IT! I got mad at that.. But just ignore people like that.. its not worth your time. |
