I've never bottle fed a puppy but isn't it important they are fed stomach down? Not on their backs like you would a baby?

Please take that baby to a Vet. for instructions on how and what to feed and how often.

When you say bottles and milk, what do you mean? You don't mean the bottles and milk made for humans do you? Could you explain what he bought a bit better so we could guide you.

Second, I urge your roommate to rethink his decision about not taking him back to the breeder. I'm just going to be blunt about this. If he does not spend every minute taking care of this baby for the next couple of weeks, you will be posting in the RIP section. And IF this baby does survive, you are going to have major behavioral problems later like biting, growling, and barking.

He needs to be fed every few hours, kept warm every second, and his gums checked regularly for signs of hypoglycemia. And you are going to need to stimulate him with a cloth to make him pee and poop. And when I say every few hours, I mean even in the middle of the night. So forget going to classes or going out at night or going out period if you want this baby to make it.

Also I just wanted to add that MS has a huge problem with puppy mills and if the breeder sold a 4 week old puppy to you, then you most likely were at one. If this baby dies from being too young to be taken from his mother, there is no way the breeder (and I use that word loosely) will refund his money. So if everything that everyone has been telling you doesn't convince your roommate to take this baby back, then maybe the fear of losing $390 will.

Forgot to add that for the other puppy you bought who is a bit older, the most important thing is making sure he eats. At this age, he is very suspectable to hypoglycemia. Nutrical is great but it causes short term spikes in blood sugar. The best way to prevent hypoglycemia is to make sure he eats. I hate saying this but eating the little ceasar, is better than if you buy a high quality food that he will not eat. I would continue the little ceasar and then slowly start to add in the high quality food that you ordered.

I am taking my Yorkie and his to the Vet at 4. I will see what he Vet recommends me to do and I will do it ASAP! Thanks for the advice and encouragement so far..:D I will keep u posted..:animal36

Soooo glad to hear that. Pick up some supplemental milk for puppies while you are there and ask the vet about instructions on how to feed and how often. Also get the vet to show you how to stimulate the puppy to pee and poop.

That's good! Btw, the littlest puppy isn't 4 weeks old...if he was born 8/23..he was 5 weeks old yesterday. Let us know what the vet says.

just read this thread. I think taking him to the vet is the best thing you can do right now. Pay close attention to the vet's directions on how to take care of this little one and hopefully everything is going to be just fine.
I can't believe someone would sell a 4 week old puppy, that's just insane!!! but I'm glad you guys are making sure he's taken care of. Let us know how everthing went!

Well, I just came back from the Vet. My dog is very GREAT HEALTH! :D I asked about the 5 week Yorkie. She said he look fine and just need to take really good care of him. That is look ok.:animal-pa
